The woman made a video on TikTok making a statement that she would rather not raise her daughters to be a career woman.
Although more women are focusing on careers and breaking the glass ceiling to join the workforce, freedom of choice remains the defining factor. This has been visible in the approach of a TikTok creator who is going against the tide for a specific reason. Solie, along with her husband Andre, runs the TikTok page @andreandsolie, where they share videos promoting traditional values and importance of homemaking. In one of their recent videos, Solie highlighted how homemakers like her are often devalued in society. She boldly stated that she would be raising her daughters to become homemakers rather than career women.
"We live in a society that devalues homemakers and praises career women," Solie says in the voiceover of her video where she is seen cooking in her kitchen and taking care of her children. "Your role as a homemaker is extremely valuable. Healthy families thrive when women embrace their role as homemakers. Nothing can replace the value of a woman as a homemaker — no Grammy Award, Nobel Prize, or Ph.D. Nothing," she said, adding that these responsibilities should not be undervalued.
In a follow-up post, she elaborated on her thoughts from the previous video. "If we have daughters, this is who we will raise them to be and why. The next generation of homemakers starts with us! This isn’t about forcing them into being something they don’t want, it’s about training them in the way they should go, teaching them to be homemakers according to sound doctrine and giving wisdom and guidance. I don’t usually give parenting advice like this but we young wives need to consider how we can train our little ones and what our end goal with them will be," she wrote in the caption.
"We will raise our daughters to be homemakers and not career women. Being a homemaker will be option A for our daughters, and here's why. As parents, we believe it's our responsibility to guide our children's paths," she explained in the second video. "This doesn't mean our daughters won't have jobs or education but they will be fully equipped with skills to manage a home, run a home-based business, care for children and respect their future partners. Many of these skills, like time management, are valuable in various life contexts."
"Our daughters will have the flexibility to assist friends and siblings with children, even if they're single. They'll provide a stable home base to support their own families and engage in adventures while being present for their loved ones," Solie added.
Users in the comments were divided over her viewpoint as some agreed with her philosophy and others voiced their opinions against it. @mamabear_20091 wrote, "Love this! Got my doctorate so I could be a pharmacist. Gave it up a little over a year ago to be a SAHM and it was the best decision!" @shieladward117 noted, "I went to an Ivy League Art school my son attended a top school and is married with 2 kids his wife has her Master's and works. Theirs is a healthy home."

@user7898133599149 commented, "I understand everyone should have choices, however, there are some careers where women are needed, if everyone stayed home society would struggle, I work as a nurse in women’s and children’s services, my career is very fulfilling and I know that it is needed." @klo2229 questioned, "How does society devalue homemakers? You get tax breaks and bigger refunds when you have kids. Single women with high-paying careers are not punished." @sbenton85 added, "How about we praise women choosing the life that best suits them? Whether that’s a homemaker or having a career. The choice is greatness."
