Mother deliberately embarrassing her daughter at the middle school dance is the most relatable thing

During the teenage years, it is usual for young people to start feeling embarrassed by their parent's behavior. It usually happens because teenagers are going through a phase of development where they are trying to establish their own identity and independence and may feel like their parents are cramping up their style or embarrassing them in front of their peers. We all have had embarrassing moments in our teenage years that we look back on now and laugh. It seems that a mother on TikTok was deliberate in her actions when she collected her child from a middle school dance and caused her a moderate amount of embarrassment.
Lindsey Helms (@teamhelms) shared a video on TikTok, featuring the mother of four arriving in her vehicle outside her daughter's middle school shortly after the dance ended. A large group of children had congregated on the sidewalk, seemingly waiting for their parent's arrival. As Helms approaches the school entrance to locate her daughter, the onlookers begin to take notice.
The reason for the attention is due to the mother of the middle schooler having her car windows down and playing loud music, specifically "Pretty Girls Walk" by Big Boss Vette. After Helms spots her daughter, it's apparent from the tween's expression that she is not pleased with her mother's arrival. Instead of being delighted, the daughter looks at her mother with an open mouth before turning away in profound embarrassment. Shortly after, the tween's friends begin to gather around and enter the back seat of Helms's car as she offers to give them a ride home. However, when the daughter gets into the back seat, she remains displeased and gives her mother an intense and menacing stare. Many viewers found the incident amusing and easy to identify with.
TikTok user @flowermomacrame commented, "Leather jacket is a friend for life lol she’s appreciative of the mom being there to pick them up." Another person @user2356687 said, "Honestly it wasn’t THATT bad of a song choice you coulda really embarrassed her lol." The video has gained 11.8 million views until now and over 1.6 million likes.
