Many children who grow up with grandparents get to feel their love and care. It might even give them an additional sense of protection and family. A mom on TikTok feels she's made the best decision by moving across the street from her parents and the reason behind it is absolutely heartwarming. Jamie, who goes by @three.happy.suns on the platform, shared a video with a brief glimpse of why she thinks the move was a good decision.

In a video with the text overlay, "Highly recommend moving one street down from Grandpa and Grandma," one of Jamie's sons is seen playing with a makeup brush as he stands outside the house. Moments after the boy appears to have spotted someone, he drops the brush and starts running. We then see that his grandpa was coming towards their house. "Grandpa brings us donuts every Wednesday," the woman wrote. The boy makes a beeline towards his grandfather who had kneels down with the pack of donuts to greet the boy. They happily hug each other as they meet with the mom urging the boy to thank his grandpa for the donuts.

In another video, the boy is seen playing on the street before running towards someone again. It was his grandpa this time as well. He is wearing a cute pink helmet as he steadily runs towards Grandpa with tiny steps. His grandpa, meanwhile, spreads his arms as he walks towards the boy to greet him with similar excitement. Eventually, when the boy is close enough, the man kneels down with arms spread for the child to run into. They share a warm hug as the video ends. "Update: Living down the street from Grandpa is still the best idea ever," the text overlay states. The video has received over 27.7 million views.

"We've always lived near my parents but never this close," Jamie told Newsweek. But when she had her twins, the big move came. "When we had twins, I instantly needed a lot of help, and my mom was over at my house almost every day," she added. "Both my mom and my dad would come over to help during the day, and even spent the night with me in those early months when my husband was gone to help with nighttime feedings." That's when they spotted the perfect opportunity. "This house came up on the market and my parents went through the open house and immediately called and told us we needed to check it out," she revealed.

"We see my parents almost every day and I'm so grateful for that. My boys have the best relationship with their grandparents," the mom went on. "They say it takes a village to raise a family and we are so fortunate that part of ours is so close." People took to the comments section of the video to appreciate the relationship. One TikTok user wrote, "That is a luxury money can't buy. They are both blessed beyond words... I would give anything to have my grandfather back." @bespectacled commented, "Took him five business days but by God, he went as fast as those little legs could go!" @dablackirish remarked, "That hug after running a mile took me out."

@three.happy.suns Once again, highly recommend moving one street down from Grandma and Grandpa. Best buddies 💙 #grandkids #grandpa #neighbors #boymom #bestfriend ♬ Here Comes the Sun - Relaxing Instrumental Music
