As much as wedding dresses are special to a bride, many mothers dream of passing on their attire from their big day to their daughters. However, there's a question of generation gap and not every daughter would have the same taste in fashion as her mother. But, when fashion and travel influencer Kelsie Anne wanted to wear her mother's wedding dress for her reception, she came up with a brilliant way to alter it to her taste. The bride shared the wholesome moment on TikTok when she surprised her mother with a chic rendition of her 40-year-old wedding dress and the mom's reaction was too precious.

As the video begins, we can see Kelsie Anne trying on her mother's full-length wedding dress from four decades ago. "Surprising my mom by shortening her wedding dress for my reception dress with her approval," the text overlay read. The mother had no idea how such a beautiful traditional white wedding gown would be transformed into a stylish party-wear dress. But one would understand when Kelsie Anne walked into her reception venue wearing the little white dress and she had thoughtfully retained the bow on the back of her mother's wedding dress.

The video showed some moments frozen on camera where the mom was utterly delighted to see her adorable daughter wearing her legacy. The mom's face was filled with excitement and another picture shows her brimming with joy throwing her hands up in the air. Her cheerful expressions were a sight to the sore eye. "My heart is bursting. She was so happy. It was so special," the daughter mentioned. One of the pictures towards the end of the video shows the mom lovingly admiring her own wedding dress fitting beautifully on her daughter. "The most special piece of my wedding was getting to wear my mom's dress for the reception and surprising her with it!" Kelsie Anne added in the caption.

The video gained more than 3 million views in just a couple of weeks and people simply adored the idea. "Stunning! Not going to lie, this is the only time I’ve ever seen a wedding dress get shortened or changed and I thought it was amazing," said @serenagiaa. "It's not often that this is done so tastefully where the new piece looks equally as timeless and classy. Such a beautiful work and I'm so in love with the sleeves!" lauded @_salsakitty_. "Such a cute way to incorporate your mom's dress," added @haileyannco.

As the internet was obsessed with Kelsie Anne beautifully honoring her mother during her wedding reception, the bride couldn't hold back her excitement. "I asked if I could use it in a special way during a part of our wedding festivities, and she allowed me to alter the dress as I saw fit. But she did not know when or how the dress would be used; she was just happy to share it with me," she told Newsweek. With the support of a tailor, the bride was able to bring her vision of her mom's wedding dress to life. During her reception, the bride rushed to the bathroom with her maid of honor, changed into her mom's dress and surprised the guests and her mom, breaking into a special dance performance.
