Raising self-confidence in young children is a crucial aspect of their overall development. However, this is often easier said than done. As children grow and navigate the world around them, they can be susceptible to various factors that may affect their self-esteem, such as criticism, bullying or even failure. It is where parental guidance and support come into play, and one mom on TikTok has found a way to empower her daughter and promote her self-worth in a creative yet straightforward way.

Each morning, Tara, a mother from Michigan who has one child named Evy, engages in a daily practice of affirmations with her daughter. As they stand in front of a mirror, preparing for the day ahead, Tara and Evy take turns repeating positive affirmations to themselves.

Over time, Evy has become so adept at repeating these affirmations that she now leads the ritual mostly on her own. Evy says in a video, "I am kind. I am free to be me," and her mother affirms it by saying, "Good Job!"

During their morning affirmations, Tara and Evy cover a wide range of positive statements that focus on different aspects of Evy's life. Evy repeats phrases relating to her intellect, such as "I am smart," and her physical appearance, such as "I love my body."

Additionally, she expresses her love for others and emphasizes the importance of self-acceptance by reminding herself that she is enough just as she is. Along with these affirmations, the mother-daughter duo also incorporates a discussion on consent as part of their daily routine.

Evy says in the video: "No is a full sentence. Respect my body always." The adorable clip concludes with Tara giving her daughter a kiss as Evy beams with joy and declares confidently to the camera, "I am ready for the day!" From her positive attitude and enthusiasm, it is evident that Evy is truly prepared to take on whatever the day may bring.

The video has gone viral and gained over 12 million views and almost 3 million likes. TikTok user @mamaontheleft said, "I've done this w/ my daughter for a long time and one day before kindergarten she said 'when I'm having a bad day I say our affirmations in my head.'" @aclearbrightsky commented, "The healing with inner child just by watching this." Another person @romyimii wrote, "She is going to be an amazing woman [when] she grows up."

One of the other videos on Tara's TikTok account is about teaching body boundaries to her toddler with absolute care. She teaches Evy about what are appropriate body boundaries that should not be crossed. She demonstrates it as well. Her parenting style is commended by everyone who praised the mom for raising her daughter right.

TikTok user @chicquie5 said, "A world where kids are no longer forced to give hugs and kisses to insisting family members? Is this real?" Another person @mickstok commented, "You seem like a wonderful mom." TikTok user @chacho209 wrote, "She is incredibly adorable and so well educated. You did an amazing job."
