These moms are supporting each other as they know that breastfeeding while traveling can be challenging. Not only that but also these moms are using their creativity to make the place a bit more personalized. As they use the lactation or Mamava pod at New York's LaGuardia Airport, they leave encouraging notes for each other. It has been picked on by many moms who use the pod.

It was started by Grace Stevens, a mom and also a community relations associate at LaGuardia Gateway Partners, the developer and operator of Terminal B. It all started in January when Stevens returned from maternity leave and started writing wrote a few encouraging notes for other moms, reports TODAY.

"I didn't plan any of this; I wanted it to be a personal thing mom to mom," Stevens said. "It started with a couple of Post-Its and has taken off from there. For traveling mamas, feeling the love at Concourse D in LaGuardia Terminal B's Mamava pod." She also posted a few pictures of Post-it notes on the wall.

Moms are also posting about it on their social media. Myah Tinay wrote on Instagram: "I finally got the chance to use a @mamava_vt nursing pod and omg. These notes on the mirror pulled at my heartstring," she said. "Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no shame in nursing in public-my hungry baby will get fed by any means," Tinay shared. "But just the fact that there's a space for me, created by women, for women. I just love it. It's also so spacious."

"Catching a break from the side-eyes," one mom wrote. "I've never been one to 'cover up' while breastfeeding, but I was pretty excited to use this convenient, clean, private area to take my little one."

Stevens took this idea from several other lactation pods in the airport as she traveled for work. She started doing the same at the Mamava pod, which has over 100 notes on it now. Mamava is a lactation room start-up by Sascha Mayer and Christine Dodson, which started in 2013. These pods provide moms with the privacy and hygiene they need for breastfeeding.

According to Mayer, there are over 1,000 Mamava pods in over 48 states in offices, hospitals and airports. "We love it because it's something you're doing that's private and may feel isolating since you have to step away from work or be away from your baby if you're pumping," Mayer said about the Stevens' efforts. "My main thing is that it recognizes women work in airports too. It's hard enough to travel, but to navigate working in that environment proves that moms can do anything."

"This initiative and encouragement of the notes helped me fulfill my goal to nurse for as long as possible," Stevens added. "To see other moms have this resonate as much unprompted, it truly comes from their hearts to support other moms. When I was trying to navigate this on my own for the first time, I definitely needed these words of inspiration to get through it. It means so much to be able to help people and pay it forward."
