Pregnancy announcements are pretty adorable until they're done when your flight is already late! David Scott, who goes by @david.scott.203 on TikTok, shared a hilarious video where a mom-to-be pulled off the most unexpected 'pregnancy announcement' on her partner moments just before takeoff. The clip went viral, gaining over 5 million views online since it was published on June 7, 2025.

The woman secretly began recording as a crew member announced, "We do apologize, ladies and gentlemen! We, unfortunately, have an unpaid passenger." Her partner looked confused as the crew hinted at the same row they were seated in, and she, like a true prankster, played along. "Additional seat? Excuse me? We paid for our tickets," the man said, with full confidence, but the crew kept on repeating that they had a third passenger with them. The man began panicking, or more like agitated, because he said that the flight was already an hour late and they shouldn't be wasting any more time. "Unfortunately, we will not be able to go wheels up until this additional passenger is accounted for financially," the crew informed.

At this point, the gentleman looked at his lady, only to realize that she was recording, and assumed she was collecting proof against the airline for wrongly accusing them. "Maybe we should just pay it, so we can just take off," she suggested, and the man looked at her and asked, "Pay for what? There are only two of us!" But just when things were starting to get heated up, as a co-passenger, too, suggested that they pay for the additional seat, the woman finally showed the pregnancy kit to him. "I am pregnant," she revealed, as the whole flight cheered for the couple. The man who was all angry, melted the minute he realized it was all pre-planned by his lovely lady.

Today, announcing your personal life, such as proposals or pregnancies, or even weddings, has become quite the sensation. Needless to say, every hour, you have someone announcing their pregnancy on the internet. In fact, Jessica Calarco, a sociology researcher, held social media responsible for the low birth rate. She said to Newsweek, "Social media may be playing a role in pushing the birth rate down, in part by promoting the perception that people should really only have children if they can give those children what we might think of as 'Pinterest-perfect' lives."

Meanwhile, the pregnancy-announcement video received mixed reactions from netizens; while many slammed the woman for unnecessarily delaying the flight further, others loved her prank idea. For example, @jasminxmxa commented, "Cute idea, but I think it was dragged on for too long. I would get annoyed if I were other passengers." Similarly, @carrienired80 said, "Ok, cute idea. However, the man stated that the plane had already been delayed for an hour, so why is it further delayed? What about the people on board who may have a connecting flight & are already stressed about the 1-hour delay? Zero awareness!" Another user, @tarastamp0, said, "I’d be fuming if they held a plane up for that!"

@number_4t7 wrote, "My hope for the other passengers is that this was done while other crew were still going through checklists and ultimately didn’t delay the flight at all. Side note, the guy flipping out is a bit of a red flag; he’s the type that’d get shot during a routine traffic stop, lol." @miroslava3078 shared, "I would file complaints, like so many. No way my flight would ever be stressful like this. And keep your private life private. There is no need for this thing. The world is already overpopulated!"
