As per a study published in Paediatric Child Health, 25% to 35% of toddlers and preschoolers have been regarded as picky eaters by their parents. Kids being "choosy" about their food has been an issue for many parents. The same thing follows when they reach their teenage years. Meredith Masony–who goes by @thats_inappropriate–frustrated by this behavioral pattern in her children, went a tirade about it on her TikTok. She talks about how hard it is for mothers to hear that there is nothing in the house to eat when they spend to much money and time to stock the house for their children. Many other parents could relate to her frustration and it was reflected in the video's popularity, having garnered 980K views and 72K likes.

The mother begins the video by getting to the point directly. She states, "I am so sick and tired of teenagers telling me that there's nothing to eat in this house." After that, she pulls off a funny impersonation of her teenagers, saying, "I'm so hungry, and there's nothing to eat. Oh my god, why don't you buy things to eat?" She then goes to her pantry to show their complaints hold no water.

Masony points to every item she has stocked up in the pantry. She then starts pointing at each item and goes on a rant, "Um, I don't know. Uh, a f*cking A, B, C, D-E-F-G-H-I-J-K, L-M-N-O f*cking p. How about that? How about all that?" The fact that she put so much hard work into stocking the pantry, and her kids still had the gall to say there was nothing at home clearly bothered her. Later, she gives people an estimate of how much she spends on food to get this ungrateful reaction from her kids. "I spend $400 a week between Costco and Publix. You can tell me we don't have nothing to eat. We got lots to eat," she said. "Okay, why don't you come on over here? Why don't you come on over here? We got drawers full of sh*t, okay?"

She moves on to her refrigerator to highlight the kids' disrespect towards food in the house. They asked their mother to buy something and then completely forgot about it. She gives an example of a banana on a table, which her children bought out of their own volition and were now flat-out refusing to eat. She jokes that the banana is slipping into a "coma" as the children are avoiding it. Soon, she would have to throw it away. The mother finishes her angry take on the situation with "We have too much to eat, so just shut up!"

The comment section agreed with all of the points put forward in the video by the mother. @user4834548018318 shared the mindset of children and wrote, "If you don't have fresh hot pizza or burgers, fries, and milkshakes from a restaurant, then you have nothing to eat…apparently." @kelichamplin commented about her child's food shenanigans, "Mine told some people at church we didn't have anything to eat. The church bought us food & called me to pick it up. She just didn't want what we had."
