After learning the soon-to-be mom had no one to attend her baby shower, she felt no mom should feel like she was alone for her baby shower.
A baby shower is a big moment for most new moms as they get the chance to share the excitement and joy of having a baby with their family and friends. However, some women may not have enough people to celebrate special occasions with. In one such instance, a soon-to-be mom posted an open invitation for her baby shower on Facebook, as she lacked a support network to share the occasion. Jessica Lorena, a mom and TikTok user (@jessicalorenahh), couldn’t bear the thought of her celebrating alone. Determined to make the event special, Jessica decided to attend and bring some joy to the day.
"The other day, a mom posted this on Facebook. No mom should be feeling like she's alone for her baby shower," Lorena said as she pointed at the open invite for a baby shower. "I was like, baby girl, send me the address. Send me the invite. I am going to be there. I'm gonna be putting the toilet paper around your belly. I'm gonna be playing all of the games. I'm gonna be eating all of the cake." Lorena sent a message to the soon-to-be-mom on Facebook for more details, and the mom informed her it would be in Spanish. "Oh! Even better. That means the cheese is going to be bomb, and the cake is going to be tres leches," she expressed. Lorena even went shopping with her baby to get a gift for the baby shower.
"She is having a boy, but she doesn't know when she is due, so I can't match the months with the seasons," the mom shared as she tried to find a gift in the store. The mom shared her baby registry with Lorena, which included toys and other essentials, prompting Lorena to purchase a few items. "She mentioned some things she could hang over the baby’s car seat," Lorena explained. She also bought washcloths, towels, and a baby bathtub, which the mom had specifically hoped for. "I remember when I was pregnant, I thought that somebody, either your family or your close friends, was supposed to throw you a baby shower. So, I was waiting and waiting, and nobody gave me a baby shower," Lorena recounted as she reached home.
"I cried and cried to my husband because I couldn't believe that nobody was reaching out," she added. "My husband said, 'Who cares? I am going to throw you a baby shower. Don't worry about anything. I am going to plan it for you. You just have to dress up and come out of the room and it'll be your baby shower.'" Lorena went on, "Shout out to David. I am never going to forget that." Lorena carefully prepared the gifts for the baby shower, ensuring everything was packed and ready to go. "We will see how it goes tomorrow." People in the comments appreciated the mom's beautiful gesture.

I had to throw both my baby showers myself. It was stressful, but I'm thankful my husband helped me with everything. I was sad at first but then realized it was okay. We did it our way!" @daaisy_ooo shared, "I just saw a mom share in my group that her kiddo's birthday was gonna be empty and I sent her a gift. We couldn't make it because of work, but I drove by and left her kiddo something and she was so excited."
