While a conversation about farts may make an adult flush red with embarrassment, the topic would make kids giggle and roll in laughter. Kids love potty talk, from poopy pants to fancy farts, from butt cheeks to doo-doos. Farts, especially, are episodes that allow the tiny tots to express their curiosity about bodily functions, crack up with a rib-tickling laugh, and often receive frowning looks from adults. When Sarah Beth Sutter (@sarah_beth_sutter) and her husband Scott Sutter (@scottsutter34) noticed that their kids had crafted an illustrated short story about farts, they took to Instagram to share a flip-through video.

The hilarious video opened with Sarah flipping through the upcoming bestseller titled “Farty Had a Great Day!” The short story’s cover featured the title in green marker, followed by the author and artist's names scrawled in blue ink. “Written by Ford Sutter and illustrated by Flynn Sutter,” the credits read. Below the title and credits was a goofy green fart monster wearing spectacles. “This is Farty. He’s going to have a great day,” Sarah narrated the text scribbled in magenta pink color on the following page.

The text was highlighted with a green rectangular border. Below the text was the Farty raising one of his hands, as if he were saying hello. On the next page, the authors continued Farty’s story with a text snippet that read, “This is Fart City and Farty is getting poopy ice cream and in pea shape.” The green illustration below the text showed a Farty monster with a big cloud over his head, holding an ice cream and a tumbler of soda.

On the next page, exciting action unfolded as Farty’s character went to the movie theatre to “watch the biggest fart ever.” This page was decorated with an illustrious scene of Farty sitting on a chair and looking up at the movie screen, which displayed a giant Farty mouth with a big laughing expression. The story continued on the next page with Farty walking back to his home and carrying a soda can in his hands. “Now Farty’s going home to make a diarrhea smoothie,” Sarah narrated, her voice cracking as she added, “Disgusting!”

The last page of Ford and Flynn’s immersive short story featured a happy Farty with a wink in his eyes, standing with his arms curled around his waist. “Farty was so excited that Farty had a great day,” the caption read. Beneath the caption, the creators also scribbled down three alternative titles, including “Farty and the City,” “Farty and the NFL Game” and “Farty’s Birthday.” Pointing at this table of titles, Sarah mocked, “These are some of the titles coming to a bookstore near you!”

Sarah’s hilarious promotion of her kids’ “best-smeller” grabbed the interest of more than 1 million people, many of whom jumped into the comments section, which they flooded with laughter emojis. “The best-smeller,” @_chris__jordan_ commented. “Is Disney gonna hire this boy,” added @pachadella.yolanro. @dray1991 asked when the picture short story would be published. @mrscreech13 wrote, “Farty is a breath of fresh air.” @ideation.kiki said, “I see a publishing deal coming your way!”
