One common issue is postpartum hair changes, which can be distressing. However, this mother is inspiring women to embrace this change confidently.
Welcoming a child into the world is one of the greatest experiences of life. However, with all the wholesome moments come many challenges during and even post the pregnancy period. The postpartum period has many changes to deal with. As a new mom, it can become a struggle to adjust to all the changes after giving birth. This period can be tough and other things add to the challenge like postpartum hair can be distressing. Pregnancy may cause significant hair loss but one mother has completely embraced these changes. Melinda Finnegan—who goes by @minfin4life on TikTok—decided to have a hilarious take on postpartum hair and inspire other women to embrace it completely.
Finnegan who was pregnant a few months ago shared a video that is hilariously wholesome. Postpartum blues do come in and sometimes you can’t help but feel ‘not so good’ about your body and appearance. Many may have thought of what to do with those baby hairs that are growing after the pregnancy. However, Finnegan shared an exciting way to deal with postpartum hair and if you’re a postpartum momma, this should be something to try!
She began her video with the text overlay, “4 hairstyles for postpartum hair.” She then captured herself and her baby hairs that were growing looking completely raw and tiny. For new moms, this look would be horrifying, but not for Finnegan. She confidently and humorously presented 4 famous hairstyles in the most adorable way possible. Yes, baby boughs and clips are included!
The first style was the iconic “Front Piece” showing Kendall Jenner with the most gorgeous front pieces followed by Finnegan herself with her postpartum hair sleekly divided as “front pieces” appearing to be fangs than fronts. Next was the “accessorize,” the common hairstyle to look chirpy. The demo image was that of two young girls adorned with big colorful clips looking youthful and pleasant. Finnegan beat their beauty by using tiny colorful boughs, presumably that of children on her baby hairs on the front. Now that’s accessorizing at a whole new level!
The third hairstyle was the unbeatable “front poof.” This style is known to provide more volume and instantly give an uplift to your entire look. Finnegan spared no effort in hysterically trying to form a “Front poof” with her baby hairs. The poof didn’t even, well, “poof” but with her momma's confidence, you couldn’t even tell. She aced it! The last hairstyle was the splendid curtain bangs which almost every teenager dreams of. Finnegan in no time presented herself with the postpartum version of “curtain bangs” and boy, it did not disappoint. She ridiculously arranged her baby hair on either side of her parting to form the "curtain bangs” bringing out her scanty, still-growing baby hair confidently and proudly.
Commenters went wild on looking at these hairstyles and more importantly her outlook on their whole experience with the postpartum period. @lizparamo90 said, “I felt this down to my hair follicle.” @tiffdunford said, “The struggle is real.” Postpartum can be tough but it is nothing to be embarrassed or ashamed about. It is part of your journey. Embrace and enjoy it the way you like just like Finnegan did!
