In one instance, she can be seen saying, 'I'm a good mom. Look how happy she is' to 'I'm not good at this.'
Parents who go on vacations with their kids definitely know how hard that is. There are many ups and downs. Besides that, everything is extremely uncertain. A kid might not nap at their usual timings or throw a tantrum or two while out in a restaurant eating, and worst of all, moms are usually the ones handling most of it. One such mom, Taylor Wolfe (@thedailytay), shared a hilarious parody on Instagram of how a vacation goes for a mother.
The video begins with a mom expressing how happy she is that they planned this vacation even though traveling is hard. And just in the next clip, the mom is seen troubled and saying, "She’s not down yet. That’s why I’m sitting here. IT’S NOT DARK ENOUGH!,” as reported by Scary Mommy. The video then shows the mom saying that the child got a nap later and it is all good. But soon again switches to, "I don't know why we did this!"
"It is different seasons of life and this is short and a hard one, but it is worth it," says the mom. Then again can be seen trying to look for something in their suitcase and saying, “No, the sippy with the straw! It’s her sippy, or she’s not going to go to sleep," then goes back to “This is why we do it...memories!”
She is seen frustrated again and yelling, "We have to leave brunch RIGHT NOW. We will see you guys later.” “I just need… a moment,” she says exasperatedly, dealing with the child in the next scene. The mom keeps going from good moments to getting troubled about everything the child is going through. In one instance, she can be seen saying, "I'm a good mom. Look how happy she is" to "I'm not good at this" to again, "I'm tired, but we will definitely do it again."
The video went viral with about 1.4 million views and 24k likes. It is captioned, "Happy Spring Break. All for the memories.!!!! Hard but worth it. Bc MEMORIESSSS."
Many moms on social media could resonate with the video. @caterwright commented, "This is why I take a lot of nice photos of my kids on vacation so I can falsely remember that I enjoyed every second of it." @jomaney wrote, "My 'favorite' toddler vacation 'memory’ is when we headed straight to the dentist from baggage claim because my daughter was dancing and fell and broke her tooth! That was super fun!" @j_claffin_ expressed, "This is just me in everyday life with my child." @real.life.mommy shared, "It’s fine, I’m fine. I’ll just sit here in the dark hotel room while he falls asleep. Feeling this post as we say it after every trip and before every trip, is it harder yes, worth it yes, but also now I’m exhausted and want to cry and need another vacation or mild morphine drip."
Kudos to all the moms who despite the troubles of taking kids for a vacation, still do it so that they can have some family time and the kids could have some fun time.
