The owner said that the error was caused by 'different perspectives'

Despite being a natural and essential part of caring for an infant, breastfeeding in public remains a source of debate and discomfort for some people. Aura McCullough (@carnivoreaura) says she experienced that firsthand when she was breastfeeding her five-month-old son in Texas’s Nowhere Bar (@nowherebar_celina) in Celina. In a June 22, 2026, video, she allegedly claimed that the restaurant staff kicked her out for exposing her breasts for too long. The story that the staff says contradicts her claim, according to a June 23, 2026, report by the Daily Mail.
@carnivoreaura @Nowhere Bar - Celina Sharing because I don’t know how else to deal with my anger, heart break, and disappointment. I celebrated my husband’s first Father’s Day today, or atleast tried to. We went to nowhere bar in Celina, TX, and was kicked out for breast feeding my 5 month old son. An employee approached us and told us we can’t breastfeed on premise because this is a “family establishment”. Mind you there’s four tables sat in the entire restaurant, we’re one of them, and we are the only “family” there. The other three were couples all 30+. We asked if anyone complained and the lady answered her manager watches the cameras…. What kind of creepy ass manager do you have? Then we asked to speak to said manager and she said she was the manager? Then she’s like I got off the phone with the owner and they said we’ll cover the bill yall can go. Oh and the cherry on top, they’re ✨women owned✨

McCullough detailed that a staff member had approached their table and asked her to cover herself while she nursed the baby. When she questioned whether a fellow customer had complained, they told her that the bar’s manager was watching her on the security cameras. That, she said, was “extremely humiliating and demoralizing,” so much so that she cancelled her burger and asked for the check. At this point, the staff member told her that the owner would cover it, but the family would have to leave.

“They ruined my family’s first Father’s Day. And they shamed a mother for trying to feed her baby,” the new mother described, and added, “She wants everyone to believe that a mother and a wife drove 30 minutes to a local burger joint to just hang with her b**bs out.” On the other side, Katie, one of the restaurant owners, denied the claim. She emphasized that it was a “miscommunication” and that they never intended to prohibit breastfeeding.
In the actual situation, it was a young employee who had felt uncomfortable and had asked for the manager’s assistance. Katie explained that it was their responsibility to listen to their employee, as their parents had entrusted their safety and comfort to them. But they never negatively targeted the breastfeeding mother. “As a mother who breastfed two boys in public, I mean it when I say that breastfeeding mothers are very welcome in Nowhere,” clarified Katie. She went on to add that the error was caused by “different perspectives,” but the restaurant staff was acting in good faith.
According to a study of 279 mothers published in Breastfeeding Medicine, 5% reported feeling “vulnerable or unsafe” while breastfeeding, while 99% said they felt safe at home. According to the World Health Organization, mothers should provide exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of a baby’s life, followed by continued nursing for two years or more. Research shows that when women lack safe or acceptable places to breastfeed outside the home, this impacts the health of the child. Contrary to this incident, the Texas Health and Safety Code Chapter 165 states, "A mother can breastfeed or express breast milk for her baby anywhere she is otherwise allowed to be.”

Viewers had divided opinions on the video. Some asked the woman to hire a lawyer and sue the bar, while others said she should move forward with understanding and a wider perspective. @wennie_lou_who said, “There is more to this story, I guarantee it.” @beanie993 said, “Nowhere bar is about to be No-more bar.” @keralee27 reflected, “I personally would never breastfeed uncovered in a food establishment, but I also would never say anything to someone who was.”
