Many parents think that getting their kids dressed and fed is enough preparation for school but looks like there's more to it.
As children brace up for the beginning of the school year, parents go through their own spree of preparations. From shopping for school supplies to organizing their bags, many moms and dads ardently help their kids kickstart their semester. Similarly, Danielle–who goes by @lifewithdaniielle on TikTok–is one such mom popular for passionately organizing her kids' school bags and lunches. Last July, the mom gave us a glimpse of things she packs in her daughter Aubree's emergency kit for school and it went viral with over 2.3 million views.
In a pink chequered pouch, the mom added the important items that Aubree would need in an emergency. Firstly, the mom made sure that her daughter carried a first-aid kit. The travel-size first-aid kit contained band-aids and sachets of ointments. Then, she included soft tissues and a travel-size deodorant. In case her daughter had trouble with her hair, the mom added hair ties and a mini hair brush. She also ensured that her daughter didn't have to fish around for basic necessities like hand sanitizer, lotion, body spray and chapstick.
After including the necessary toiletries, the mom focused on the crucial things for her daughter's dental health. Since Aubree had braces on, Danielle had to ensure her daughter was not in any uncomfortable situation. "Because Aubrey has braces, she will be getting a second one that's smaller that she can take out of her backpack and go to the bathroom if she needs to do anything with her braces, if she has foodstuff in them or if they're hurting her," the mom said. She then added travel-sized toothpaste, a toothbrush, a little box of dental wax to ease the pain if Aubree's braces hurt and even tiny brushes to clean the braces if food gets stuck in them.
The mom mentioned that she had ordered a compact mirror and brace flossers to add to the kit. "I did add body spray this year because she will be playing sports and practices and games are usually right after school, so I just want her to have everything she's going to need," Danielle explained. Finally, the mom said she always put some money in Aubree's emergency kit in case she needed to buy something. "I'll do that right before school starts," she concluded. This insightful video inspired many parents to prepare one such kit for their children before the start of the school year. Some also added a few items that should not be missed.
"This is such an awesome idea for your kiddos! I’ve been thinking about doing something similar for my own," said @shanona_herrera009. "Thank you for this! I made one for each girl! My friend recommended also putting a pad and a pant liner along with some Motrin inside just in case," mentioned @alisamrsbcs. "You should probably pack some pads or tampons just in case of an emergency," added @jaylenew59. "I needed a braces bag when I was a kid! That’s such a good idea!" chimed in @marye742.
