Christyn repeatedly voiced her intuition to their therapist, explaining that she was 'not getting the full story'

Five months into marriage counseling, hoping to salvage a decade-long relationship, Jamie Christyn (@livingoverthetop), a mother of three, found herself on a cruise alongside her husband. While they were playing games on an iPad, her husband mentioned wanting to go out for some late-night gambling with his friends. What started as an innocent quest to keep playing the game on the iPad quickly unraveled into heartbreak when she stumbled upon a contact named "Client -- Violet Johnson." She took to Instagram to reveal what she found that day on February 4, 2026, which garnered 1.6 million views and more than 16,000 likes.
Following an initial discovery of infidelity, Christyn and her husband decided to enroll in marital therapy. Despite her husband insisting that he was trying and wanted to repair their bond, especially since they had kids, his behavior suggested otherwise. Christyn repeatedly voiced her intuition to their therapist, explaining that she was "not getting the full story" and that he was still holding back the complete truth. Nonetheless, amid that, the couple decided to join a company retreat on a cruise ship alongside other families, hoping things would change for the better.
Eventually, the couple arrived on the cruise and were having a good time. But that didn't last long, as during one of the evenings, as the man prepared to step out for some late-night gambling with his buddies, Christyn wanted to finish the game they were playing. So, she asked him to just leave the iPad for her to continue the game while he enjoyed himself with his friends. It was a completely innocent request, which shouldn't have been a problem. Yet her husband hesitated to leave the device. But in the end, he left it with her anyway.

Left alone in the room, curiosity took over Christyn, especially after noticing her husband's reluctance. She started navigating through the iPad's contact list and found a peculiar-looking contact name. She stumbled upon an entry masked under a professional disguise — a pseudonym: "Client - Violet Johnson." Once she further inspected the contact card, Christyn uncovered a shocking list. "Twenty items of things that this woman loved," she noted. The notes read like an intimate cheat sheet. They documented all the details from the woman's ring size to her favorite salsa track.
In fact, the list also outlined romantic plans, ranging from an impromptu balloon fight to wanting the man to fly out her family for her birthday. But perhaps the biggest revelation was several dining destinations that they wanted to go to together. However, the twist was that all of the mentioned places were their favorite spots too. And as if that wasn't enough, the balloon fights were something they used to do as a family.
That gave her clarity: it wasn't the life her husband wasn't satisfied with; he was looking to "replace" his wife. Needless to say, it was a complete shock to her system, especially given they were in marriage counseling to make this marriage work. Clearly, things weren't working out at all. Looking back, Christyn realized that even though it was on December 15th, when their third child was just 9 months old, when her husband stated, "I'm not in love with you anymore," things had started going downhill much, much earlier. They eventually divorced, and since then, Christyn has been raising her kids as a single mother and is happier than before.
Christyn is one of the many people affected by infidelity across the United States. A nationally representative 2023 survey by the Survey Center on American Life found that 46% of women and 34% of men said a partner or spouse had cheated on them at some point in their lives. The researchers noted that these figures may still underestimate the prevalence of infidelity because they only capture cases known to the person who was cheated on.

People were not only disgusted by Christyn's husband's actions, but also pointed out that he was having the same relationship with another woman. @josicaona noted, "Because men are not creative enough, they'll just have the same relationship with another woman." At the same time, @stephanieshopaholic commented, "All that effort for an affair, but they pay no attention to their actual wife/partner smh."
