Being a parent is a full-time job. From feeding and entertaining the little ones to teaching them how to stay clean, parenting requires one to wear many hats and comes with a lifetime supply of hilarious stories. Amanda Kitz, a mom on Tiktok, recently had one such funny tale to share about how her son's potty training was going. In a video that's been viewed over 3.2 million times since being uploaded to the platform, Kitz revealed how she had been trying to potty train her son Austin while he preferred to do his business everywhere but in the toilet.

In the viral video, Austin can be seen watching something on a tablet. He looks up at the camera and flashes a bright smile when his mom supposedly asks him this question: "Hey Austin, have you been using the big boy potty?!" In a freeze frame of Austin smiling sweetly at the camera, Kitz adds in a text overlay: "Austin was not... Austin was using his bedroom closet... wiping with his clean clothes... then tried to flush the evidence."

While the video is undeniably funny, the best part about the post turned out to be the comments where both parents and non-parents alike joined the fun with their own stories and commentary. A TikTok user said, "My tubes just tied themselves in a double knot." Another user commented: "Where is that girl with the notes app writing down every reason to not have children? We need her here." Yet another user wrote, "TikTok has taught me that little kids shit around the house and it's making me nervous that I did that as a kid and my parents just didn't tell me."

Many people had similar stories to share. One said, "My kids put a box in their closet for 'night-time poops' because they were scared to walk 5ft to the bathroom." Another commented, "My 13yo daughter pooped in her closet all the time when she was little. My husband brings it up as much as possible." Another said, "nooo this reminds me of my kid pooping on her rug in her room while potty training and blaming the dog and cat."

Internet users also pointed out that the ultimate silver lining, however, is that Austin was attempting to clean up his own mess. "At least he wiped," one person commented, while another joked: "I mean, he was using it... Just added a few extra steps."

In another viral Tiktok video, a mother shared how she was left feeling like the worst mom in the world. The exhausted and sleep-deprived mother named Hannah—who goes by the username @hanzcakess on TikTok—spoke to the camera at 5 in the morning. She explained that her one-year-old was going through a sleep regression. Throughout the night, she tried to breastfeed the child and only later realized that her milk had dried up. She hadn't figured out the entire time that her daughter was not getting any milk. "I was just doing what I knew, and she was latching! Like, I thought she was eating," Hannah said.

She added that the child was up for four hours, during which she tried everything she could think of to calm her down. "I gave her pain medicine, I let her play, I held her, I bought her to my bed, finally I put her in the crib and let her cry. I just sat in bed and waited for her to fall asleep," said Hannah. "So I was getting frustrated with my daughter for being thirsty," she concluded.

While Hannah was feeling horrible about how she handled the night, many on the Internet sent her words of comfort and support. A TikTok user wrote, "You are not a bad mom! I've had something along these lines happen to me as well. It seriously happens to all of us!" Another said that staying up all night with her daughter and trying to help her through it is what makes her a great mom.
