Getting approval from a partner's parents is quite an important thing for most people. Because of that, the first meeting with either parent can be quite daunting. People try to put their best foot forward to get in their parents' good books. But on some occasions, parents are so welcoming and easygoing that the daunting situation might turn into something else entirely. A similar thing happened when a woman, Kaitlyn Olesinski, who goes by @kaitlynolesinski on TikTok, introduced her boyfriend to her mom and something truly hilarious followed their first interaction.

The text overlay of the video reads, "Your boyfriend meets your mom for the first time." The three of them were sitting close to a lake with a bonfire. The mom was playing a clarinet to entertain the couple, serenading them with a beautiful song. The boyfriend was drinking as he listened to the mom play. The mom continued to play Greensleeves on her clarinet for quite a while after that. The song matched quite wonderfully with the peaceful setting. The woman broke into a smile as she stopped playing and so did the boyfriend, who was barely holding back his laughter because of the unusual nature of events. Even the daughter chortled towards the end of the video.

The caption of the video reads, "Still going strong." The video had received more than 3.4 million views and over 537.1k likes. People took to the comments section of the video to appreciate the mom's serenade and her easygoing nature. @cookingforher1 wrote, "Bruh, I would be stumbling for words trying to be respectful like 'Yes, Ma’am, thank you for playing the clarinet for us.'" @buttonshea commented, "I knew playing the recorder in school was for something! Thank you for the idea for when my sons bring home their new girlfriends! hahaha." @figgysawdust remarked, "I apologize in advance to my son… this is a pretty accurate representation of what he can expect from me in the near future."

@tenagzzz shared, "My uncle used to play us Greensleeves and say, 'This song is about when you need to blow your nose but don't have a Kleenex.'" @analrightscoop expressed, "But low key seriously… can you just have a series of your mom just playing the recorder next to the water at sunset with a fire crackling in the background? That’s a Live I would watch." @iggystardusty revealed, "Just met my son’s girlfriend & regret not having my old recorder on hand to play ‘Over The Sea to Skye’…next time!"

In another similar story, a girl requested her family not to be weird in front of her new boyfriend. Kylie Winters, the youngest in her family, was going to make her boyfriend Joe meet her family and requested them not to play any pranks. Her sister Courtney, who goes by @courtneywinters on TikTok, posted a video with a text overlay, "My sister brought her boyfriend over for the first time... She told us not to be 'weird.'" Nonetheless, the family was weird. The entire family of seven members waited outside the door with their hands folded, waiting for the couple. The family made a London Bridge is falling down set up and made the boyfriend walk through the tunnel, which ended at Kylie's dad. The situation was both hilarious and awkward for the couple.
