A single mom was so horrified by the hurtful texts her son was sending a girl from his school that she made him march to her house and apologize. The 12-year-old boy had been bullying the girl and calling her "fat," "ugly," a "c**t" and a "b***h," among other things. Samm Jane, 32, was furious after teachers informed her that her son was sending hurtful messages and bullying a fellow schoolmate. As soon as her son got home from school, she ordered him to unlock his phone and hand it to her. The mom of five was stunned to see the foul and vile language her 12-year-old was directing at a classmate. "I never want to see your ugly face in school. Your ugly face and fat body offend me," read one message, reported Metro. "Stop being horrible to me," she replied. He responded by sending a voice note, "Urgh, you’re disgusting." Jane shared the story on TikTok, where it received a massive response, garnering more than 1 million views and more than 200,000 likes.
Jane recalled "shaking with anger" after reading the messages. "He's only messaged her the harshest things you can say to a girl," she said in the video. "I was livid. Fuming." She turned to him. “What are you playing at?” she shouted at Dave, his name changed to protect his identity. Dave claimed his classmate often irritated him. "I don’t give a f**k," she shot back furiously. She explained that he was bullying her viciously and made him aware that bullying can cause people to take their own lives. ‘I told him “She’s going to be looking in the mirror now and feeling so insecure.” I couldn’t let it go,’ said Samm, who hails from Warwickshire, the UK. The school withheld the girl's name to protect her, but Samm did some snooping and found out where she lived. She made him spend some of his birthday money on flowers and chocolates and then dragged her son to the girl's house. Jane forced him to apologize to the girl and her parents in what many hailed as 'old-school parenting.' The girl's father told him, "If you were a grown-ass man and you said that to my daughter, I would have kicked your head in."
Jane promised them that her son would never speak to a girl like that ever again. "I'm a single Mom. I'm raising the boy to be a man, which is quite difficult. There's one thing I've always said to my boys: "You better respect women," said the mother of three boys and two girls. The girl's parents lauded Jane for what she did and called her a 'decent parent.' While Jane chided Dave, she's confident her son will learn from his mistake and change his ways. "‘So even though he’s eleven years old and a kid, nothing he can say to me will justify what he said to this girl. Hope he's learned his lesson because I swear to god on my dying breath, will I allow my boys to disrespect any women," she said. Samm took away all of Dave's electronic devices as punishment for a week and said her son was begging her to return them and even offered her money to have them back. The boy turned 12 on June 9, 2022, and he didn't have the most pleasant of birthdays.
"I’ve always told him about body positivity, about how women come in different shapes and sizes. That’s why I was so angry — why would he say all these things when I’ve told him to be respectful?’ she said. Samm said she shared the video "so other people could see it and think 'I don’t want my boy to be like that.' We’ve got to bring up the next generation. It’d be so much easier if parents taught their boys – and girls – to apologize and to make up," she said.
