While wedding crashers can be trouble, this couple had the opposite reaction. They were stunned when an unexpected guest, a Jack Sparrow impersonator, crashed their wedding to raise his "objections." Nonetheless, the reactions of the guests and the couple unfolded exactly as orchestrated by the bride's mother on September 17.

Jenni and Austin Foster's wedding ceremony was not just memorable for the big event, but also because of an unexpected guest who brought laughs out of the guests. Bride Jenni has always been a huge fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, with her favorite character being the ever-whimsical and funny Captain Jack Sparrow, played by Johnny Depp. When Jenni's big day was nearing, her mother, Marianne Schroeder, decided to pull a sweet and hilarious surprise for her daughter. She decided to hire a Jack Sparrow impersonator, Jason Walker, to crash the wedding in full costume and enact the character's mannerisms. Sharing the surprise with People, Jenni explained, "After the officiant asked if anyone objects, it goes quiet (sic), then out of nowhere the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song came on and everyone was confused."

Out of nowhere, "Jack Sparrow" appears, as everybody, including the guests and the newlywed couple, bursts into laughter. Jason, perfectly emoting the character's mannerisms, goes, "What is the meaning of this? Who is this man? What about us, love? The promises we shared? What about the good times? The kraken and the undead monkey?" Jenni recalled, "We reacted with a lot of confusion at the beginning, but once the show started, we absolutely loved it! Jack Sparrow's character holds a special place in (my) heart!"  She shared that only a handful of people were aware of the surprise, but the actor's "3-minute-long declaration of love" was enough to make the guests laugh nonstop. "He brought so much joy and laughter with him! Everyone enjoyed it! He truly became part of the celebration rather than just a moment in it," she added.

The surprise, which was successfully pulled off by her mother and wedding planner Gabriella, was kept a secret until 10 minutes before the ceremony to keep the element of surprise. "My mom and Gabriella pulled this off just 16 days before the wedding," she revealed. To Jenni, this was the greatest surprise she had ever received, as the bride had always had a huge love for Pirates of the Caribbean. "I remember growing up and going to see Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End in theaters," she said. "After that, I made sure I owned all the DVDs, dressed as Jack Sparrow for Halloween in elementary school, and now have a whole tattoo sleeve dedicated to Pirates of the Caribbean."

In a 2015 study, Laura E Kurtz and Sara B. Algoe explored conversations between 71 heterosexual romantic couples and found that the proportion of time spent laughing simultaneously was positively associated with global evaluations of relationship quality, closeness, and social support. The study suggests that shared laughter fosters positive emotions and strengthens relational bonds. By bringing a surprise element which is attached to the bride's childhood, the bride's mother helped in fostering not just entertainment, but also promoted bonding among guests and between the couple.

The video, which surpassed 64,000 likes on Instagram, had online users approving of the pirate "crashing" the wedding. @mills6351 wrote, "Very cool, but the groom looked a little worried while the bride was finding it very funny....😂well done family." @lovegod_andlive commented, "My pastor told me one time that he never does that part of the wedding because 'if you didn’t agree with them getting married why didn’t you something before now and why are you here pretending to support them?!?'" @mbickford52968 wrote, "That was awesome... I just couldn’t hear a damn thing with everyone talking and laughing... brilliant though."
