Mom leaving for work early never gets a goodbye. So her baby sends adorable doorbell messages instead.

Children have the most unexpected and heartwarming ways of expressing love, and one toddler has found the sweetest way to remind his mom how much he misses her—even while she’s at work. Hannah Bell’s job requires her to leave early in the morning, often before her 23-month-old son, Landon, is awake, according to Newsweek. “I started consistently leaving for work before my son woke up in the morning, so we didn’t get to see each other most mornings,” Bell shared.

That’s when Landon’s dad, George, stepped in with an adorable idea to keep mother and son connected. Every morning as they leave the house, George and Landon stop at the doorbell camera to send a special message to Hannah. The toddler eagerly waves into the camera, often saying, “Bye, Momma!” in his sweet toddler voice. Sometimes, he even copies his dad, blowing a flying kiss and adding, "Love you, mama." Bell shared the adorable videos online, posting them on TikTok under her handle @hannah.l.bell. 

The doorbell camera captures these moments, and Hannah gets notifications on her phone while she’s at work. “Seeing the videos makes me feel so happy, loved, and missed,” Bell said. “It’s so hard as a working parent to be away from your baby for most of the day, so those little videos get me through the day and remind me he is thinking of me.” She added that the ritual is something she now looks forward to more than anything else while she’s at work. “It is absolutely the highlight of my day. I wait all morning at my work desk waiting for the notification.” The clips quickly gained attention, with viewers falling in love with the sweet tradition.

Landon’s love for the doorbell camera isn’t limited to his mom. When George has to travel for work, the toddler keeps up the ritual for his dad, too. “Sometimes my husband travels for work for multiple days in a row too, and Landon will talk to him on the doorbell too,” Bell shared with the outlet.

This heartwarming story is a reminder of how young children can brighten our days in the simplest ways. It’s the same sense of innocence and involvement that shone through in another viral moment, where a 2-year-old hilariously mimicked her pregnant mom having contractions. The toddler watched her mom managing labor pains with deep breathing and decided to join in. Standing nearby, the toddler began mimicking her mom’s breaths, taking exaggerated inhales and exhales, as though she were “helping” her mom through the process. The dad humorously explained, “I took this literally 3 hours before my wife gave birth. My 2-year-old was having contractions too!” While the deep breaths might not have helped with the pain, they brought smiles to both parents’ faces.
