Only people who are responsible for feeding a kid daily know how challenging it can be. You not only have to figure out what to make that will nourish their bodies, but also take into consideration all the constantly changing food preferences of the little soul. A mom, u/tofulovermilf, recently took to Reddit and talked about how her son, who is a picky eater, was excited when she packed him apple slices, freeze-dried banana chips, sunflower seed and a croissant for his school breakfast. He was not able to eat it, and the reason infuriated the internet. Parents online were outraged after the mom shared that the teacher withheld the tiffin from the boy for being "unhealthy."

"Today my son wasn’t allowed to eat his breakfast in kindergarten, because it was deemed to be too unhealthy," she wrote in the caption. "He’s a picky eater too and was excited about his breakfast. I packed him apple slices, freeze-dried banana chips, sunflower seeds, and (the ultimate culprit) a croissant." She added that she went "ballistic" on the teacher. "My poor boy was so confused and hungry when I got him," she wrote.

In less than one day, the post garnered a lot of attention, with many taking to the comment section to talk about how infuriating the behavior of the teacher was. "Hey no, this is not mildly infuriating. This is just infuriating. As someone who works with kids (and has basic empathy) I would sooner starve myself than let one of the kids go hungry, especially because an adult took their food without replacing it due to a subjective and bad judgment call regarding how healthy it is. And a kindergarten kid? He's a baby, how are you fine starving a baby and feel okay about that," commented u/comixjuan. Others questioned the school about starving a child. "Do they provide him breakfast, if they won’t let him eat? I wouldn’t be able to take them seriously for anything education-wise if they think starving the kid is better than eating that," wrote u/JaMoraht.

"I don’t see how the teacher felt the best option was to starve the kid. She should be reprimanded for this," chimed in u/MichelleCS1025, to which the mom replied, "Yeah, I told my husband about it and asked him to talk about it at the upcoming conference, which he’ll attend since I already had a very pissy talk with her yesterday." In a conversation with the Daily Mail, the mom said that the teacher told her son that he could not have his "unhealthy" breakfast and that he could eat the croissant at home. "It's all very beige and looks unappetizing, but I still think it's a relatively balanced meal for a toddler. It also only is breakfast - he has the whole day to eat a lot more," the mother stated.

The child later had the entire meal after his pick-up and was reportedly confused about why he had been denied it before. The parent also shared how the school requests all parents to send healthy breakfast for school but does not provide a list of "forbidden food."
