She tried to avoid explaining foreplay to her child and instead used a cooking analogy to describe the concept.
As parents, we know that answering our children's questions is part of our job description. However, some of the questions they ask can be a bit awkward, especially when they are related to sex education. It can be challenging to come up with an age-appropriate explanation that does not confuse or scare our little ones. Britt Ostofe - who goes by @britt.ostofe on TikTok -recently found herself in this predicament when her daughter asked her what "69" means.
"Today, my nine-year-old daughter came home from school and asked me if I knew what 69 was. The f--k?" Ostofe says in the viral video. She tried to respond by saying that it is the number before 70 and the child said no it is not. The mom wanted to avoid explaining foreplay to her child but it was clear that the kid already knew what "69 "was. "Well, I heard it's when a boy and a girl are together and they're trying to have a baby," explained Ostofe's child.
She shared how she was feeling about the whole situation. "I'm panicking. I could fill an entire swimming pool with the sweat coming off from my upper lip." However, the mom wanted her daughter to hear the meaning from her instead of somebody else. "At the end of the day, she's gonna learn about this sh-t from somebody else, or she's gonna learn from me," she said. "So, I told her a cooking analogy. 'You know when you're cooking a meal, and there's prep time and cook time? Where in prep you're chopping the veggies and cook time is getting to the main meal, the main deed.'"
The mother then said, "She is sitting there trying to process the most messed up analogy I could have given her." Ostofe went on to tell her child, "Only adults are allowed to prep and cook in the kitchen. And you will get there when you're an adult, OK? But right now, you're a kid. Kids don't make dinner. You don't need to worry about it." The child had a response for that too. "Well Daddy doesn't, he doesn't prep the food he just comes and eats so like is that the same Daddy didn't help make a baby."
She told her daughter in the end, "Cooking is not for you, take up another hobby." The hilarious video garnered more than 30 million views on TikTok. Many found the situation extremely funny. @mattieloui commented, "'I don't cook' exactly the point baby girl." @im_acnaib wrote, "At nine, I used to make Barbies kiss and that was the highest level of sexuality I could think about." @barrentine pointed out, "She’s probably gonna go tell the boy at school 'Well my mommy said it’s cooking so you’re wrong.'
