Mom gets emotional about 3-year-old's heartfelt wishlist for his birthday: 'This is so pure'

It's a parent's responsibility to prepare their child for life but there also comes a point when the little ones teach the parents what truly matters in life. The best example of this is a 3-year-old's wishlist for his birthday. Hannah Black, a stay-at-home mom of two and certified lactation consultant, shared an emotional video on TikTok sharing what her son wanted for his third birthday and it's sure to make any stone-cold person break into tears.

With tearful eyes and a smiling face, the mom expressed her overwhelming emotions in the 15-second video she posted in March. In the text overlay, the wish list made by her toddler, Crew, appeared. Firstly, Crew wants his "daddy to stay home from work," on his birthday. The list continued, "donuts for breakfast, play toys for 'all the many minutes together,' daddy to bring Chick-fil-A for lunch, chicken, broccoli, rice and cucumbers for dinner." While any child would jump at the opportunity and make a list of toys they wanted, Crew chose to have his family close on his birthday. Finally, the 3-year-old wanted to go on a "special walk" with his family, which included his mom, dad and his little sister.

"I told him we could do anything. This is so pure. Happy 3rd birthday Crew," the mom added in the captions. Just like Black, many others were teary-eyed on seeing Crew's wishlist. "Kids really remind us to enjoy and embrace those simpler moments," noted @cheyyyyyy16. "That baby has a good life right there," added @marilybarday. Others chimed in with their own heartwarming experiences with their kids finding joy in little things. "My son wants to dance with Momma and go to work with Daddy because he's always gone fighting the bad guys and he's proud of Daddy, my husband is a Green Beret," wrote @amogillespie. "Whenever we tell our 3-year-old we can go anywhere, do anything, eat whatever he wants, he just wants us to play with him," said @hannah.roigz.

Among the comments to the video were some people hoping that all of Crew's wishes came true. So, Black decided to share an update as to how Crew's 3rd birthday turned out to be. Though she didn't get into the details of his every wish, she shared a glimpse of how the "special walk" he longed for went. "It pretty much looked the same as our walks every other day. But that made me realize (even more) how special this time is together. Special doesn't have to be extravagant," the mom mentioned in the caption.

The video showed little Crew sipping on his drink while taking a walk with his mom, dad and his little sister. He cheerfully hopped about with his dad on his side and seemed to be having the time of his life. As the mom pointed out, this was a usual thing that they do every other day but, to Crew, it was something "special." What the adults find too ordinary and simple matters a lot to the little ones and Crew had beautifully taught us that lesson.
