"Anyway, I hope this doesn't leave any Bad Blood between you and Maddie and that things for the rest of the year are not Treacherous," wrote the mom in the note.
Taylor Swift's "The Eras Tour" is the talk of the town. From social media to news outlets, everyone is talking about it! The pop sensation will be coming to Houston to perform for a 3-night stint at NRG Stadium. It would be a 3-hour, 44-song-long performance ending at 11.15 pm. By the time the concert-goers will reach back home, it would be well past midnight. So, when a mom and her daughter had the tickets to the Sunday night's show, the Swiftie mom wrote an absence note for her daughter to excuse her from school the next day, as per Scary Mommy.
Karen Vladeck, the wife of law professor and CNN contributor Steve Vladeck, shared the note she sent to her daughter’s teacher on Twitter, adding that she wouldn’t be in school on April 24 due to "The Eras Tour". Interestingly, the note had many Swift songs and references. “Dear Reader [Ms. Parks], I'm writing to let you know that Maddie won't be in school on 4/24 because she is going to the Taylor Swift concert in Houston,” Vladeck wrote. “I hope missing school doesn't ruin her otherwise stellar Reputation, but she begged me to go and maybe I Should Have Said No but I didn't want to be Mean. So It Goes...Anyway, I hope this doesn't leave any Bad Blood between you and Maddie and that things for the rest of the year are not Treacherous.”
Vladeck shared this note with her husband in a text message and uploaded the screenshot on her Twitter profile. Her husband replied in surprise, "Oh my God, Karen." She also received responses from other Swiftie parents. One teacher wrote, "Teacher here. All good teachers are Swifties. It's just science. 🤷♀️” Another wrote, “When are you accepting your best mom award? I love this.”
One user added their own experience as a comment, "One year when the San Francisco Giants won the world series, we called the school to say our two boys would not attend so we could go to the victory parade. The school thanked us for our honesty as half the class called in sick. Good luck." One user also made comparisons and wrote, "Just brilliant!! Loved the difference between your husband’s and the teacher’s responses! From another legal mummy of a young girl-Swiftie herself … kudos! "

Whereas, several Twitter users came up with Swift-inspired replies. “Maybe she responds with ‘Here's the homework she'll have to make up. Look What You Made Me Do,” one Twitter user replied. Another wrote, “Hopefully she responds: I Knew You Were Trouble when you walked in. Evermore, Teacher” One even wrote, "I’m sure that teacher knew you were trouble (when you walked in). You know all too well that kids are not supposed to miss school for concerts. Your reputation’s never been worse."
Vladeck then shared her daughter’s teacher’s response: “THIS MADE MY ENTIRE DAY.” The post also revealed the original email’s subject line, “It’s Me, Hi, I’m the Problem, It’s Me.”
There could not have been a better expression of love for the tour by a Swiftie!
