Getting invited to birthday parties is a fun aspect about being a teenager. It can make you feel included and loved among your peers. So when a 15-year-old girl received a birthday party invite, she was super enthusiastic about it. But it was not just the girl, her mom was equally excited and happy. The mom took to her Instagram page @theluckyfewofficial to share their excitement. She wrote, "Yesterday Macy got in the car and showed me an invitation to a birthday party for a friend at school who is also in the life skills program."

As the girl sat in the car, the mom exclaimed, "You got invited to a birthday pirty!" The 15-year-old simply couln't stop smiling and laughing as she responded, "Yeah." Looking at her mom's reaction, she cutely put her hand on her head and added, "Oh jeez mom. Oh jeez." The mom was overwhelmed with emotion. She expressed, "[That's] really special, it's making me cry. I am so happy for you." The girl waved the invite and her face was lit up with joy as she shared her mom's energy. "I am crying, I am so happy for you," the mom celebrated.

The mom shared the reason behind her excitement in the caption and said, "Y’all! I’m not exaggerating when I tell you we can count on one hand the amount of birthday parties she’s been invited to by school peers/friends SINCE KINDERGARTEN! She is now in 9th grade. Her joy from this invitation is palpable. WOW! To me it spoke of a longing fulfilled. All I could do was laugh with her and then cry as I celebrated with her." The jubilant mom added, "Macy! You are deserving of every birthday party in the whole wide world. I can’t wait for Saturday!"

The woman also shared an update on the birthday party. In the video, Macy's mom asked her how was the birthday party. The girl shared, "I love it here. It was so fun. I love birthday parties!" The girl was laughing and dancing as she answered the question. The birthday party was held for a disabled boy who had invited both disabled and non-disabled individuals making it inclusive for everyone. The mom took a moment to highlight the essence of inclusion and diversity as the boy's mom warmly welcomed them even though they barely knew each other.

The woman wrote, "About halfway through the party, Macy turned to me and said, 'Mom, I like it here!' These come-as-you-are, shoulders-down spaces are rare in Macy’s life, yet they are almost always found within the disability community. Macy, I hope you receive many more birthday invitations. More importantly, I hope you always feel embraced and adored wherever you go."

@bringing_back_cat wrote, "Why do I find the whole concept on Macy not being invited so weird. Why could you NOT invite her? She’s probably the most fun bloody kid there!" @thatextraextramom commented, "My heart is exploding! I can count on one hand how many times my girls have been invited to birthdays of friends with Down syndrome - they’ve never been invited to any other parties - so I feel like I can sincerely relate to how this feels!! So happy for Macy!"

@km04049 remarked, "I’m a paraprofessional in a life skills classroom at our local high school. I get so much joy and love from 'my kiddos' every single day. If the rest of the world would take the time to get to know Macy and all of our kids, they would be invited to every party! We have so much fun. Macy, have a blast. I hope you dance!"
