Parenting is a full-time job that individuals have to put considerable effort into, if they have to succeed. From the moment a child is born, parents are subject to constant decision-making, sleepless nights and a never-ending stream of responsibilities. Parents also have to be adept when it comes to dealing with a child's tantrums as it can happen anytime. They will especially be tempted to yell at them to get them to calm down, but that is not a permanent solution and can affect the kids negatively.

Explain everything calmly

TikTok influencer Destiny Bennett recently shared a video on TikTok where she managed to calm her  5-year-old son down. The video has gone viral on the platform with over 1.5 million likes and 21.4K comments. In the video we see that her son is distressed and Bennett is kneeling in front of him explaining how he can deal with his emotions in a healthy manner. She starts by saying, "I love you very much. Do you know how much I love you?"

"I want you to feel better"

Bennett continues in a calm voice while holding her son's hand. She states that she is aware that he is angry and wants him to feel better. She says, "I want you to love you enough to see how angry you are and want to feel better." The mother continues by telling the boy that people tend to feel better after getting the things they want. But people could not get these things all the time and it was okay to be angry because of that.

Teach kids to let things go

Bennett tells her son that in such scenarios it is best to be able to "let it go." She tells him that he must find other ways of making himself feel better. The mother heartwarmingly ends, saying, "I need you to love you okay? I love you. Let's have a good day today." People on the site loved the mother's calm approach and shared their thoughts in the comments section.
