Mom asked her 13-yr-old what he wanted for his birthday—his response is restoring people's faith in humanity

Most kids turning 13 look forward to gifts, a party, and maybe a cake with extra frosting on their birthday. That is what a 36-year-old mother, Christina, from London, United Kingdom, expected when she asked her son, Jayden, what he wanted to do for his birthday this year. Instead, he made a quiet request that his mother never saw coming. She shared the moment via her TikTok page, where she goes by @crose_27, leaving her viewers stunned and touched by the question as she was.

Jayden had been thinking about his birthday plans since December, and his idea had nothing to do with gifts. "I don't want anything for my birthday. I want to feed homeless people," he told his mom. Christina was stunned. "He has always been a kindhearted person, but I couldn't believe it when he said that," the mom said, per Newsweek. Jayden had been setting aside his pocket money to help cover the cost of food. By March, he had saved £60 ($76). Christina and her partner put their money into his savings and used their own to buy ingredients for spaghetti Bolognese, along with birthday cake and doughnuts.

"He ran home on his birthday because he was so excited to cook and dish out the meals. He was so determined to help 50 to 60 people, and that is exactly what we did," the mom shared. Together, they visited three areas around London. Jayden handed out meals, spoke to people on the streets, and spent hours ensuring everyone received something. They returned home around midnight. Christina explained that they often see people sleeping rough while waiting for public transport, which is how Jayden became aware of the issue.

"The experience was eye-opening. I've always taught him never to look down on people in a less fortunate position. He is aware that the people on the streets probably had good homes and families, but their lives have been turned upside down. He is compassionate and has never judged them," Christina said while reflecting upon the day.

Also, she shared that initially, Jayden was nervous. "He was scared to speak to them, but after meeting about two people, he got into the swing of it and loved every second," the mom added. Many people he met that night were stunned by what he was doing. Christina said he was met with praise, and the response filled him with excitement about doing more. "I am so proud of him, and he already can't wait to do it again. But this time, he wants to help more people. I will help him fulfill his goal," she said.
