Mom and daughters wear wedding dresses to their monthly dinner and dessert date and it was adorable

A mom and her daughters turned some heads when they went out for dinner in beautiful wedding gowns. Bonin and her daughters Madeleine, 28, Alexis, 25, Annalise, 23 and Kate, 18 as well as Bonin's daughters-in-law Hannah Joy, 26, and Sydnie, 25 wanted to do something fun together. "We decided that the most expensive dresses we owned deserved to be worn and enjoyed for more than just one day in our lives," Alexis Houston captioned an Instagram video of all of them heading to True Food restaurant in Texas while wearing white gowns. "We’ve decided to make this a yearly tradition."

The group told TODAY's Hoda Kotb that people's reactions were just as fun as their outing. "Everyone (was like): ‘What’s going on? Did you just get married? Where are your husbands? Can I take a picture with you?’" Terri Bonin, the matriarch of the family, shared adding that people just wouldn't stop asking questions.

The whole thing was a barrel of laughs to the "brides" who rode to dinner in a 15-passenger van. "It was like all these women in a clown car with their wedding dresses!" recalled Sydnie. "I think we are all a little bit wild and crazy when it comes to doing daring things," explained Terri.

The occasion also deeply moved the girls' mom. "Seeing them in their dresses, I was flooded with so many memories and with how much life has happened since their wedding days," she said. "It was surreal... they’re just so beautiful. Who cares if you fit in your dress or not? We did life. We had babies! I think it had more emotion for me than I was expecting. Each one of them is unique and special and they support each other, and I love that my daughters are best friends."

Family is everything to the group and they try and make sure to spend time with each other. In fact, the close-knit family always finds ways to do things together. "Once a week, we have a family dinner where everyone... husbands and babies... comes to my house," she said. "And we girls like to get together alone once a month... at our homes (or) out (doing) different things. We are our support group so we come together once a week—I’m not cooking for them, sometimes they bring things sometimes I cook—but the main point is we are in community with each other. We just want our kids and my grandkids to grow up together.”

The women in the family have a monthly dinner tradition to meet without husbands and babies; a time to eat and talk late into the night. According to PEOPLE, Terri is not just mom to daughters she also has sons. In fact, she has 11 kids ranging in age from 9 to 31. As for her recent viral outing with her girls, she said she loved doing something so different with her family. Just getting dressed up and making a scene was “ridiculously fun!” She added, “My favorite part was just making a spectacle and being silly with my girls. We definitely made a memory that will last a lifetime.”
