This mother's exhaustion-fueled goof up might just be one of the funniest things to exist on the internet today.
Like most mothers across the nation, 29-year-old Paige Ward has been working around the clock to make ends meet since the pandemic decided to just drop in on us and shake things up a bit. Between juggling work, home, and her four kids, this Oklahoma mom often finds herself stretched thin and utterly exhausted which — as history shows — is the perfect recipe for hilarious mom fails. Ward's exhaustion-fueled goof up, however, might just be one of the funniest things to exist on the internet today thanks to picture day at her daughter's school which was documented for eternity.
Speaking to BuzzFeed News, Ward said that her two-year-old daughter, Emma, has been a shining light for the family since she was born. Since the youngster's hilarious personality and sassy disposition is well-known among their friends and family, it didn't come as much of a surprise to the young mother when her friend made her daughter a funny t-shirt that read "sasshole." In fact, she thought it was quite funny and even dressed Emma in it a couple of times. Little did she know that the shirt would one day make her daughter famous on social media for all the hilariously wrong reasons.
Recently, following an exhausting 60-hour week at her job at an urgent care clinic, Ward woke up to get Emma dressed for school and grabbed the first thing out of her closet. Just her luck, the T-shirt "happened to be the famous 'sasshole' shirt," she said. When they reached the school to drop Emma off, Ward's fiancé noticed camera equipment outside and told her that it might be picture day. However, Ward responded that she didn't think so, because she hadn't been notified. His words came back to haunt her two days later when Emma's dad dropped her off at home along with the photo proofs.
Ward saw them and understandably freaked out for a moment, saying she was "hysterical." She said she thought, "Oh my god. Everyone is going to think I’m a horrible mother. How could I do this?" However, once the initial shock wore off, Ward realized that in a way, the pictures of little Emma smiling the sweetest smile while the unfortunate folds on her T-shirt hid the first "S" in "Sasshole," was very on-brand for this year. "But the entire time I was dying laughing because it just fits Emma’s personality and 2020 so well," she said.
Having accepted the fact that her daughter's official school portrait shows her wearing what appears to be an "A**hole" t-shirt, Ward decided to make the most of it by posting about it on TikTok. As it turns out, the TikTok community loved the hilarious mix-up and the video quickly went viral across social media platforms as many other moms posted that they thought it was absolutely funny. Of course, there were some who responded saying the T-shirt was inappropriate for Emma to even own but Ward shut them all up with the perfect response: Bring em on!

Hmmm. Why does a two year-old have such a t-shirt in the first place? 🤨 pic.twitter.com/MIkQzLa1FU
She revealed that Emma's teachers also thought it was pretty funny and that while she had never expected to go viral, she has been excited and happy to share Emma with the world. Ward explained that her family has been through a rough couple of years, and Emma has always made them laugh and stay positive throughout everything life threw at them. "Through the pandemic, we have been struggling to make ends meet, and this was just the comedic relief we have been needing," she said. "Since Emma has been born, she has been the light through all the darkness."
