People have different work ethics and beliefs. A lot of people strongly believe that their income, growth and prosperity are directly proportional to the amount of time they put into their work. However, that isn't exactly true. Rene Lacad—who goes by @renelacad on TikTok—is a millionaire and believes that success is not measured by the hours you work in a week. In a video he posted on the social media platform, Lacad stitches a clip from another video wherein a man who looks like a worker is seen with the overlay text: "If you work less than 100 hours a week, lower your tone when talking to me." Lacad reacts to this statement by the worker and gives his opinion on the topic.

Lacad starts the video with a disclaimer that states, "So first things first, no hate to this guy. I'm sure he's making good money. He's doing his thing so shoutout to him." However, he then goes on to explain his point of view. He says that he believes that one shouldn't take pride in having to work for over 100 hours a week. While he believed the same thing when he was younger and worked over 50 hours in sales, he has grown ever since. What he thought was hustling was exchanging his time for money to grow someone else's dreams.

He explains that when one starts earning real money, the kind that allows you to do whatever you want and go wherever you wish to without a second thought, that's when you realize that there's nothing great about working so much. In his own words, he says, "When you start making real money. I am talking VVS diamonds, penthouse on the water money, that's when you realize it's not cool to work a lot." He adds that it is during times like these that one realizes just how they wish to work as little as possible. They start preferring smart work over hard work.

Talking about his own life, he says how he barely works for four hours every day. And yet somehow, he manages you make 10 times more money than he did when he'd work 50-60 hours every week. He could do this because some fundamentals are set in his mind. He says that while hard work is wonderful and an important part of growth and life, that is not the end goal. You're not here to work hard. You're here to be happy. He ends his video by saying, "Hard work is never the goal, happiness is. Love you guys."

A lot of the people in the comment section share his sentiment. @charleshaynie747 says, "100 hours a week is a lie, my dad is the best worker I've ever heard of, second to the Lord. and 86 hours was his peak." Another user, @justrick24, said, "Not everyone could have the same job as you or else we’d all have money. That’s impossible, so be grateful." Not everyone has the privilege to work a few hours each day and still be able to sustain such a great life. The majority of people out there need to work long hours for the better parts of their lives, but for those who can choose not to, they should opt for it.
