Everyone has at least once in their lifetime dreamt of standing in the front row of a concert, somehow catching the eye of their favorite artist, and ending up singing on the stage with them. Yet, for most of us, the nerves would take over long before we could hit a note. One determined mother, however, refused to let her son's talent go unnoticed. During a Michael Bublé performance 15 years ago, she ensured her son got the chance of a lifetime, and when the spotlight hit him, he didn't disappoint.

The mother stopped the legendary singer's performance, requesting him to let her son, Sam, sing with him. At first, the singer seemed clueless as to what was happening but decided to give it a shot anyway. He brought up the 15-year-old on stage to sing his superhit song, "Feeling Good." While it was Bublé who started the song, as soon as the mic was put on Sam, he shocked the crowd and Bublé with his beautiful voice.

"Oh! Sam can sing!" he said before lifting the kid and asking his band to play the starting tune once more. Despite the large crowd staring at him, Sam went on to deliver a soulful duet performance with the Grammy-winning artist. It was a rare, unscripted moment of brilliance that transformed a routine tour stop into a viral moment, proving that sometimes you just need someone to believe in you as much as Sam's mother did in him.

Nonetheless, while Sam got his confidence from singing the first note, he's not the only teenager who gets a boost from singing or playing an instrument. According to studies, the theory of self-efficacy suggests that participation in music activities (such as learning an instrument or singing) can enhance individual self-confidence and self-esteem. Music supports adolescents’ mental well-being by helping them express and manage emotions, build connections and a sense of belonging, and develop creativity and thinking skills.

Sam later went on The Voice, where a Nashville music producer spotted him. Then, he inked a two-year deal and won the British Country Music Award for being the Country Artist of 2014, as reported by Good Housekeeping. Soon, he headed to Stafford College, where he studied Music Technology and now continues to perform. All of this was made possible only because his mother stepped up that night.

The video recently resurfaced on Reddit after being posted by u/MarketBuzz2021, and people loved the entire incident, especially how well Bublé handled it all. "I'm not a Michael Buble fan by any stretch. But he does seem like a genuine dude, and this is a very classy move on his part," u/CanIgetaWTF wrote. Meanwhile, u/hoolihoolihoolihouli shared his/her own personal experience with the singer, "He’s an absolute gentleman. Had a five-minute chat with him when he was filling his car with gas. Treated me like we’d been friends for years. Truly a good guy!" they wrote.
