Michael B. Jordan is this year's 'Sexiest Man Alive' and we can't get enough

Around this time every single year, the people speak. Well, PEOPLE Magazine speaks. And despite all the terrible things we have had to go through this year, the magazine has spoken once again. This year's Sexiest Man Alive honor goes to none other than actor Michael B. Jordan of Black Panther fame. He was revealed as the year 2020's honoree during the Tuesday episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The actor said that receiving the accolade, if we may call it that, was a "cool feeling." Well, that must be nice, considering that most of us are burnin' up right now.

PEOPLE Magazine called him "dashing, daring, and driven," and we could not agree more. His grit and tenacity in real life definitely translate into the roles he plays on the big screen as well: From Apollo Creed's son Adonis in 2015’s Creed to Black Panther’s ruthless villain Erik Killmonger in 2018. Jordan will next feature in Tom Clancy's highly anticipated flick Without Remorse. Not only is his physique a real treat to the eyes, but we also love how he has been a vocal member of the Black Lives Matter movement. Furthermore, he has been active during this year's Presidential elections.

"I think there’s a time and a place for everything," he stated. "I’ve been picking my moments to make the most impact. We can all take action—big or small—to help create the change we want to see." The actor credited his loving family for being a "grounding force" throughout the years. Jordan shared, "My mom and dad sacrificed so much to provide for my sister, brother, and me. I'm just grateful. Honestly, it’s like they all have had such an impact on me and who I am and how I approach each day. Without that, a lot of things about me just wouldn’t be the same. So it all comes back to that foundation. I’m really thankful for that."

Meanwhile, we are all really thankful for, well, his existence mostly. As this gives us all an excuse to gaze at his pictures all day, he says winning the title is something for him to be proud of. "When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well," the actor stated. "This is one that they’re definitely going to have a special place for."
