People often tend to compare themselves with others based on the little information they know about them. In reality, everybody has their own set of struggles and nobody's life is perfect. A Mercedes-Benz dealership worker, Stacey Allen (@staceyabneyallen), shared an eye-opening story about her interaction with a customer at the showroom where she worked. The video has over 1.2 million views and more than 2k comments on TikTok. Allen starts the video by mentioning how she has learned the greatest lessons in life at her workplace.

This one incident of her working with a family who wanted to buy their 19-year-old a brand-new car completely changed her perspective on life. Allen shares, "So, the mom comes into the dealership with her 19-year-old son and she tells me, 'We wanna get our son a new Mercedes'." The boy was studying as a sophomore at Sam Houston State University and the family wanted to give him a car that was safe to drive around in. The saleswoman was not doing too well in her personal life, therefore, she felt sad seeing how this family was buying their son such a costly car.

Allen's husband was battling cancer and she had three sons, out of which the middle one was struggling with addiction. She was the only one who was bringing an income to the household. Upon seeing the mom and her son enter the showroom, she felt that the buyer "had it all together" in life. The saleswoman highlights, "She and I were the same age. Her 19-year-old son was getting a new Mercedes. Meanwhile, I'm waking up every morning not knowing if my son is dead, alive, or in jail."

Allen put aside these thoughts and helped the mother and son select a car model that they liked. The buyer told her that she would be back again with her husband in the evening to finalize the purchase. Later that day, Allen saw a Jaguar car pulling up to the showroom and assumed that it was the father. The man was quite good-looking and charming and it made the saleswoman feel worse as she kept comparing her life to theirs.

They got into the showroom and the man informed her that his wife and son would join them soon. She says, "Now, also remember during this time, like honestly, I'm crying on the inside most of the time." She kept questioning her own life choices and wondered how she got to be in such a bad position in life. The family, after getting their paperwork done, was about to leave. The husband and son stepped out first because they had a father-son basketball game to attend.

As she walked them out of the showroom, she could not help but wonder how lucky the mom was. The mother was still in the showroom and she allegedly asked Allen, "It looks like we have it all together, doesn't it?" The saleswoman agreed but what the mom revealed later left her stunned. She said that her husband had been cheating on her for six years. Allen was shocked and the woman revealed how she did not want to leave him or throw her marriage away. The woman apologized to Allen for dumping all of this information on her.

But Allen realized how everybody has their share of problems and said, "Don't worry. For whatever reason, God used you, and believe me, you've helped me more than you dumping on me has helped you." Since then, Allen has abstained from comparing her life with others, especially when things are not going well. People wholeheartedly agreed with her new outlook on life and shared their thoughts in the comments. @tam_bamss said, "My grandma always told me you can talk better to a stranger than your own family sometimes. Y'all both needed that moment."
