People tried this interesting sleep hack shared by the meditation guru and experienced some interesting results.
Countless hacks and tricks on the internet claim to help people get quality sleep. Some of those tricks work while others don't. If you are done with counting sheep to fall asleep quickly and it's not working anymore, meditation guru Emily Kessler, who goes by @emilymeditates on TikTok, has a sleep hack that she believes to be effective. In her video, she shared a visualization technique that might help people calm their minds and make them fall asleep faster.
“If you have trouble sleeping at night, I’m about to share with you a bizarre and weird hack for sleeping that sounds like it makes no sense but it’s helped me and everyone else I’ve told it to,” Kessler said her TikTok video that ended up gaining over 2 million views so far. "When you are trying to sleep at night and laying in your bed, I recommend taking a few nice and deep breaths to calm your body a little bit. Then start to visualize a house that is not your own house." She suggested that one can visualize a house they are familiar instead.
For example, Kessler often visualizes her grandma's old house and it does the trick for her. “Visualize yourself slowly walking up to the house, noticing all the details about the outside, going up to the door, opening the door and walking in,” Kessler explained. "Then slowly go through each room, noticing things in as much detail as possible. Make your way through every room, seeing the art, the furniture, the layout. There is something about this that distracts your busy mind enough to let you fall into sleep."
She concluded the video by revealing how she had never managed to visualize the upstairs of her grandma's house because she would end up falling asleep before that. Kessler urged people to try out this hack and share their experience in the comments. Most of the people tried the hack suggested by Kessler and got positive results. Some even came forward with their own tips and tricks that they use to get a sound sleep. @swimmergirl888 wondered, "How do I do this without falling into a pit of nostalgia and questioning every life decision I’ve ever made? @jessematthews28 commented, "This sounds great. I do similar except I relive every embarrassing thing in my mind, noticing every small detail."
@.najah.h wrote, "A hack that I do is just immediately create a dream and trick my brain into thinking I’ve already fallen asleep, no joke, the dream continues and I fall asleep." @elkie.com joked, "Instructions unclear. I am now crying because I miss my nana’s old house." @jilljung09 noted, "I do this too! Sometimes I visualize vacuuming each room. I know that’s weird but something about the methodical pattern?" While many people had success with this hack, some others begged to differ as they couldn't sleep due to various issues.@canadiangirl006 added, "I have aphantasia. I cannot visualize anything or imagine while awake." @sshhabbb confessed, "I have too many traumas to do this."
@emilymeditates I repeat: I have never made it to the upstairs 😂 Try this & let me know what happens!! #sleephack #fallasleepfast #fallingasleep ♬ Simplicity - Jon Steinmeier
