The comedy legend offered his seat to Chance's seven-year-old daughter Kensli so they could sit together.
Kindness is a universal language that transcends cultural and social boundaries. It is the act of showing compassion, empathy and generosity towards others, without any expectation of reward or recognition. Small acts of kindness, such as a smile, a kind word, or a helping hand, can have a profound impact on someone's day or even their life. During a recent flight, Chance the Rapper was unexpectedly shown kindness by Martin Short, while he was traveling with his seven-year-old daughter, Kensli. The Only Murders in the Building star and comedy icon happened to be on the same flight.
So I just got on this plane with my daughter, and found out our seats weren’t next to each other. I really ain’t wanna inconvenience anyone by asking them to swap seats, but before I could say anything this kind older gentleman offered his seat to Kensli so we could sit together.… https://t.co/EPC5cqFfiy pic.twitter.com/2vFumtpVLa

Chance shared details of their interaction on Twitter on February 27 writing, "So I just got on this plane with my daughter, and found out our seats weren’t next to each other." He added that he did not want to inconvenience anyone by asking them to swap seats. That was when an "older gentleman" offered his seat, without even being asked to, so that the rapper and his daughter could sit together. Chance continued, "We both said thank you and as he stands up, I realise it was THE Martin Short!! So cool and Kensli freaked out cause she’s obsessed with "The Santa Clause 3." What an awesome person! SHOUTOUT TO JACK FROST."
Twitter users were singing praises for Martin Short. User @MarthaMyrick tweeted, "Martin Short is the only human who really matters." Another user @pixiebellshop said, "You know what’s even cooler .. Martin Short is probably telling someone else right now how he got to meet Chance the Rapper on a plane tonight." Twitter user @noapaulag commented, "Flew with my 3 & 1 yr old sons, pregnant, from Detroit to Boston. 3 yr old got a middle seat 10 rows ahead of me. No one volunteered to switch. He stood in the seat calling me. Asked the FA to let the man beside him know he'd been carsick en route (true) & have a bag ready. Solved."
Martin Short is the man. I’m curious if he knew who Chano was. Wouldn’t surprise me either way – just a cool story of two awesome humans meeting

It is extremely precious to see celebrities exhibit the qualities of being kind and humble. In another story, Tyler Perry is providing assistance to those who have been hit hardest by the pandemic. He recently surprised elderly and high-risk shoppers by paying off their grocery bills at 73 stores, leaving them stunned. Perry continued his philanthropic efforts by helping nearly 3000 shoppers across 44 Kroger supermarkets in Atlanta and 29 Winn-Dixie locations in New Orleans during a dedicated hour for vulnerable customers. This act of kindness follows his recent gesture of giving out $21,000 in tips to out-of-work servers at a restaurant in Atlanta.
TODAY reported on Tyler Perry's heartwarming act of supporting elderly and immunocompromised individuals during these challenging times. In response to Perry's gesture, Felix Turner, a Kroger spokesman in Atlanta, stated, "We would like to join our customers in thanking Mr. Perry for his kindness and generosity during this unprecedented pandemic. It was truly a pleasure to see our customers fill with joy and gratitude."
