It is an honor for anyone to star in a Martin Scorsese film and it seems the iconic director has found a new 'muse' for his future project.
Who could have thought that legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese would frequent the land of TikTok and deliver viral videos? But it is a reality, all thanks to the director's youngest daughter, Francesca Scorsese, who introduced her father to the social media app. Ever since then, Scorsese has been making several appearances on his daughter's TikTok page, @francescascorsese. In one of his recent videos, which has also gone viral, the "Taxi Driver" director appears to be auditioning an up-and-coming actor for his latest project, but there is a delightful twist in it.
Scorsese starts the video by singing praise for some of the greatest talents in the industry that he has frequently worked with, such as Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio, etc. In his 50-year-long career, where he has given some of the finest films to each generation, it seems the 80-year-old is ready to find his next movie "muse." "Over the years, I've worked with great actors, from Ellen Burstyn to Paul Newman, Michelle Pfeiffer to Margot Robbie," says Martin to the camera. "All these people. And I feel now I need a change. I need to find something that I can take further, to another level."
After that, the camera quickly cuts to reveal Scorsese's new "muse" - his beloved pooch Oscar. "What that is, I'm not quite sure, but I've heard some extraordinary things about you," Scorsese continues to talk to his pet. "I don't want to embarrass you. I've heard some extraordinary things and I think we might be able to work something out." He even asks his well-behaved dog for an audition in order to display his range and emotions as an actor. Scorsese asks Oscar to show fear, sadness, love, and even "transcendence."

The adorable Oscar does his best and lies down towards the end. But it is more than enough for his audition as Scorsese exclaims that it is "brilliant" and Oscar eventually lands the part, "You've got the role." The cute audition tape of the pup has warmed the hearts of people on the platform. Fans are delighted to see Scorsese's daughter gradually turning him into a TikTok sensation as well. Many pointed out how the director looks more like an elite dog groomer while filming this wholesome video with his pooch.
@luvsmovies2much wrote, "Francesca continuing to give the people (me) what they want (Martin Scorsese TikTok)." @sapphiclara joked, "Martin Scorsese and Francesca have figured out what the TikTok peeps want and it is exactly this." @damnitness quipped, "Honestly, thank you for giving us this gift. A man who I've grown up with, studied and enjoyed. And now I just get him in my feed. Human. Love."
@dochikes remarked, "Marty needs to pull a Spike Lee and act in his own movie at this stage in life. It would be epic!" @petrataylormusic added, "Seeing Martin Scorsese on TikTok makes me smile so much. Please tell him The King of Comedy is the best film ever. It's number one on my list." Many others praised Oscar's performance even though the pooch didn't do much except stare at the camera and plop down on the couch.

In one of Francesca's previous videos where the iconic director made an appearance, she made him guess Gen Z slang terms. The director struggles with some terms but still manages to get "sneaky link" somewhat right, which is used to refer to a secret romantic or sexual relationship. Francesca also explains to her dad that the term actually refers to what is known as "booty call." "Oh, really?" Scorsese questions, surprised.
"Oh no, I didn't get that no. We never saw specific people in my day." Scorsese also failed to guess the correct meaning of the term "ship," which is used while referring to someone supporting another couple's relationship or wanting to see two people get into a relationship. Fans believe it's high time for the director to open his own TikTok page so he can continue uploading his wholesome videos to entertain people outside the movie theaters. His latest film, "Killers of the Flower Moon," is currently playing in cinemas worldwide.
