An 'entrepreneurial trainer' listed out things you should think twice before sharing as that can cause more problems based on how others see them.
Family and friends are the ones that a person can always turn to when the going gets tough, or simply when people need someone to listen to them. They are those who can be trusted with almost anything, but there are still boundaries to how much one can share with family members. To shed light on how much is too much while sharing life updates with family, entrepreneurial trainer and mentor Tore Kesicki, popularly known as @mindbodynetwork on TikTok, shared a video on the platform. He listed out the dos and don'ts saying, "Four things you should never share with your family members."
He started with, "Number one, marital problems," and recommended everyone not to share marital or relationship issues with family members or people who care about both the individuals in the relationship. "Family members have a way of forgiving you, but they never forgive them." Secondly, he urged people to not share things that somebody else had told them in confidence. "any other family secrets that somebody else has shared with you. Hold on to them, they were your own," he added.
For his third point, he shared how people should practice caution when opening up about their mental health. "Families tend to like to use that s**t against you, especially when they're p**sed off," he said. In his fourth and last point, Kesicki talked about how revealing life goals can also be an issue. He said, "And number four, don't share your income or goals in life. Haters are out there all over the world, and trust me when I tell you, there are haters in your family." The video resonated among TikTok users and went viral, garnering over 943,000 views on the platform.
It triggered a discussion in the comments as many users shared their experiences and opinions. "Yep. I learned my lesson from my mother. I love her, but she's a gossip. She shared an extremely personal secret with a couple of family members and it devastated me. That was 30 years ago," wrote @l231398. "I keep clear of family! Never trust a single family member," @adamy665 admitted. While @he_him_heyyou contradicted his stance and added, "Haters are out there all over the world, and trust me when I tell you, there are haters in your family."
In another video, Kesicki talked about six things that everybody should keep private, irrespective of who they are. While points like keeping goals and financial aims private were repeated, he also talked about other things such as "not bragging" about your belongings. "People talk about your material, and nobody likes a 'bragosaurous,'" he said. He also talked about how keeping your acts of kindness to yourself is the right thing to do.
"The world needs a lot of kindness, and it's wrong, in my opinion, to share your kindness while other people are watching," he shared. Viewers in the comment section unanimously agreed with Kesicki. "I've never understood why people are so open about their business and how it works. Always move in silence," wrote @txhillcountrynative, while @sannissansanjuan added, "I kept private life a secret for 25 years. I have been super successful because I didn't tell anybody."
