When the person picked out two bags full of food with clean ingredients for a low price, people wondered if they should simply move to Thailand.
It is a well-known fact that the increasing price of groceries in the US has made it difficult for people to survive. People's pockets might get significantly lighter just after purchasing a few things. Therefore, when they saw Zak Cadogan—who goes by @zakattackcalii on TikTok—post a video about his midnight grocery run in Thailand, the low-cost groceries made many people want to move to the country. "POV: It's 1 am and you live in Thailand and want a late-night snack," Cadoagn wrote in the text overlay.
The man had a spacious apartment which could be seen as he got out of his room to go to the grocery store. He put his slippers on and took his bag with his wallet and he was ready to go. "Not even in a good fit, but it's fine because it's 1 am," the man pointed out. "My lobby is so nice," the text overlay read as the building's stunning lobby came into view. He shared that there were still people out and about. "Literally walked across the street and now we're here," the person said demonstrating the accessibility to grocery stores, at least in the area he was living in. He went inside a 7/11 store which was quite busy even at 1 am. "Gonna need a basket because I forgot to eat dinner," the man explained as he picked up a shopping basket. He picked up nuts with no seed oils, a vitamin pack as a drink, purple rice because his friend talks about it a lot and so on. "I want green juice too," the man expressed as he picked up a bottle of juice.
"100% pure strawberry juice? I definitely need that no questions asked," the person said adding one more bottle of juice to his basket. "What else should I get? I am always so indecisive," the man revealed as he looked around to find more things. He took a banana for more fiber and eventually went to the checkout counter. The store also heated the rice for him. His total bill was 172 baht or $4.9. "How was two bags of food so cheap?" the Cadogan wondered. "And all clean ingredients as I am trying to stay away from processed foods," he added. The man shared that he got 6 items for $4.9 and explained how everything tasted nice as he sat down for his meal at his house.
People took to the comments to express their shock over the price of the items and how they were impressed with the cheap grocery haul. @teinkexviper wrote, "I can’t even get the smallest bag of Cheetos in Canada for that." @vickielouisemitch commented, "That trip would probably cost £45 ish in the UK, prices are sky high here." @tineshiarana72 remarked, "Yeah it's official...I'm moving to Thailand." @joechuppy expressed, "The strawberry drink would be 5 bucks alone in the US." @maddy14234 shared a different concern, "Our Walmart isn’t even open at night anymore. I never know where to go when I feel like getting out at 2 am."
