Man's efforts to win over wife's family dog who 'hates men' are absolutely wholesome

Any partner should make significant efforts to win over people who are important to their significant other. However, this man takes it to the next level by trying to win over his wife's family dog. The female dog, who "hates men," seems to be warming up to him with crucial efforts. The woman Jenna Jolley—who goes by @futuremrscase on TikTok—took to the platform to share a brief glimpse of her husband's constant and gentle efforts.

The man gradually tries to encourage the dog to come close to him without pushing her too much. In the beginning, he could be seen tapping his lap, prompting the dog to come forward and play with him. The dog slowly goes a little closer and allows a gentle pat as "You and me belong together" plays in the background. The video also shows the couple watching the popular animated movie "Thumbelina" together. The husband approaches the dog once again when she had finally settled on a sofa and pets her head lightly.

The man smiles lightly as he moves back after it to gauge the dog's reaction. In the final clip, the dog could be seen standing a lot closer as he rubbed her head with a bright smile on his face. The dog also allowed him to scratch her neck. However, Jolley shared with Newsweek that unfortunately every time their progress gets backtracked when they leave and come back the next time. Her husband has to try and regain the dog's trust from scratch every time they visit. For context, Jolley wrote in the caption, "She was traumatized by my ex, and now he has to win her over every time we come over. He never stops trying." The heartwarming video received over 1.5 million views and more than 163k likes.

Jolley replied to quite a few of them, giving more background to the story. @taylorjane0243 suggested, "Has he tried without the hat? My dog HATED hats, but the second you took it off she was usually okay." The woman replied, "He entered the house without the hat! This is after she calmed down so he felt he could put it back on, he made sure she watched him put it on."

Jolley pointed out, "He’s fed her lots of chicken before and still had to gain trust again the next morning.
