Fitness coach told his favorite McDonald’s he was on a diet — then tried sneaking back in but got shut down in the funniest way

Not everyone is as devoted to McDonald’s as Scott Haney (@coachscotthaney) is. In fact, he had become such a regular customer there that the minute he arrived, the staff knew his order: sausage McMuffins, cheeseburgers, and Diet Cokes. On April 2, 2026, however, Haney decided to ditch his unhealthy eating habits and go on a strict 90-day challenge. For the first 40 days, he somehow controlled cravings, but on day 41, he could no longer control his desire. Haney headed straight to his favorite McDonald’s, determined to break the challenge, only to be stopped by a personalized warning sign at the driveway — put there only for him. Haney posted the video on May 12, 2026, and his post has received over 12 million views on Instagram.

No orders for you, Scott

As Haney arrived at the driveway, he noticed a warning note for him on the wall. Well, the employees at McDonald's knew about his 90-day 'No McDonald's' challenge, which is why they went a step further to help their loyal customer. "Scott, no orders until July 3rd. Be strong," the note read. Haney couldn't believe that McDonald’s employees were far more committed to his goals than he himself. The warning rekindled Haney's purpose, and he immediately refused to give in to his cravings. "Never mind, I see your note for me here — I'll be back in 50 days," he said when an employee asked him about his order.

Not his first time

This wasn't the first time Haney had difficulty being away from McDonald’s. On April 29, 2026, he shared a video where he almost gave in to his cravings and ordered his usual order while disguised as someone else. But the next second, Haney was reminded of his challenge by the outlet, and he immediately settled for a "large ice water" instead.

On May 5, 2026, Day 34, another distraction came Haney's way. Three of his colleagues marched into the lunchroom with bags of McDonald’s treats and large tumblers of Diet Coke. Again, he fought back with willpower and continued eating his tuna fish. "I am trying to lose weight. You've got friends like these. Who needs enemies, man?" he quipped.

Are people really obsessed with McDonald’s?

McDonald’s caters to almost 90% of the U.S. population every year, the company claimed. In fact, in 2021, the fast-food chain fed nearly 70 million customers every single day through its 40,031 restaurants worldwide. Not just McDonald’s, but people, especially the younger crowd, have become obsessed with fast food. For instance, a study by Se-Young JU revealed that over 50% of adults in America prefer to eat outside food at least three times a week, and more than 35% eat fast-food meals more than twice every week.

Meanwhile, Haney’s dedication to fitness has motivated thousands of people who jumped into the comments section to encourage him. Referring to the McDonald’s employees, @my_nama_jacob said, “The fact that they are helping you quit your McDonald’s addiction is pretty funny." Similarly, @coendeguilio_123 remarked, "You got this, brother! stick in there!"
