Man claimed no female basketball player could beat him because of his gender. By halftime, he was crawling on all fours

As he went head to head with a celebrity, Anthony was already out of breath a few minutes into the game while Barker was cool as a cucumber

The bigger the ego, the harder the reality check. Anthony, an internet troll, strongly believed he could beat any WNBA player simply because he's a man. As per a video shared on 4fun (@4funguys) on YouTube,  Anthony claimed, "I really don't think there's a single WNBA player who can beat me in basketball." To prove his point, he was given a chance to face Portland Fire's Sarah Ashlee Barker in a 1-on-1 basketball match, and boy, did he get humbled. The video was posted on November 29, 2025. It received 2.5 million views, 62,000 likes, and 2,839 comments.

Made to eat his words

When the game started, Anthony gave Barker the ball, underestimating her, but a few minutes into the game, he was already tired. Barker jokingly quipped, "Do we need to take him to the hospital?" By halftime, he was crawling on all fours, trying to catch his breath. Anthony jumped around and struggled to block Barker. He failed every single time. When he finally managed to score a basket, the score was 2-8. Finally, Barker landed a two and ended the game at 11-2.

'I got nothing respect for the WNBA'

By the end of the game, Anthony was lying on the court, out of breath. Barker had one request before the end of the video. She told him to look at the camera and say, "I need you to tell the camera that you're sorry to the WNBA, and you're sorry to all the women." He conceded and said, "I got nothing but respect for the WNBA. They know what they're doing. They're the best at what they do, and they deserve all the respect." She added to drive her point home, "If you think I was hard, imagine my teammates who are literally the greatest of the greats."

Average male vs. professional female athletes

Men's mansplaining, or the belief that they can beat female athletes, is not uncommon. Psy D, sport and clinical psychologist, Mitch Adams, explained why. He said that men have been taught from a very young age not to doubt themselves, even with low self-esteem, "because everyone tells them they’re supposed to know what they’re doing, and they have no freaking clue. There are a lot of boys who turn into men who are just developmentally adolescents."

A YouGov poll asked people if they think they could beat Serena Williams if they played their best. The results revealed that 12% of men thought they could, compared to only 3% of women. Anthony's brag was similar until he stepped inside the court and was beaten 2-11 by a women's basketball player.

 Still nice to their trolls

People loved watching the troll lose to Barker. They even noticed how she knew his move before he even made it. @er4zz3rwp47 commented, "Got me shocked, she knew what he was about to do before he even knew it himself. She actually moved before he did to counter his shit. Pro athletes are where they are because they f*cking good at what they are doing." @Domer_Domer15 added, "Delusional people making their reputation worse."
