Making a note of her weird and wild dreams, the boyfriend made them look like Rupi Kaur poems with hilarious pictures backing up.
Dreams often conjure the most bizarre scenarios, ones we rarely dare to say out loud. But for those who sleep-talk, there’s no escaping the hilarious monologues their dreams can turn into. From random phrases to full-on conversations with imaginary friends, sleep-talkers can be pretty entertaining. Harry Mitchell, a video editor from Glasgow, Scotland, who goes by @harrywmitchell on X, had a brilliant idea—he turned his girlfriend’s wild sleep ramblings into aesthetic poems. And soon, they went viral.
In his X post from 2020, Mitchell pointed out that his girlfriend, Blair Robertson (@MyEvilBlair), often had weird dreams that she blurted out in her sleep. "My girlfriend talks in her sleep. I've noted them down for weeks and turned her dreams into Rupi Kaur poems," he captioned the post. The poems were digitally designed in a way that resembles the aesthetics of poetry and quotes pages on social media with relevant images in them. One of the poems read, "The ship is sinking. It's filling with water. I scoop," and Mitchell named it "Piracy Anxiety." Another one was about Robertson asking her cat to cook the prawns but then saying, "You cannot cook. You stupid cat." It was called "Catatouille."

In one of her dreams, Robertson turned into a crab who goes "side-by-side," warning others to "not go into the sea." There was a time when the girlfriend asked in her dream, "How many millions are in a billion? A hundred?" to which Mitchell replied, "A thousand." Robertson was quite shocked in her sleep learning this fact and said, "Wow. That is too many," and the boyfriend named this poem "Socialist Dream." This post went viral with over 786K likes and more than 2000 comments. In one of the posts, Mitchell assured the concerned users that he asked for his girlfriend's consent before publicly sharing her wildest dreams.

But the poems didn’t stop there. Mitchell added three more dreams-turned-to-poems in the thread and they are nothing short of hilarious. "I am sentient. I am self-aware. I am Jesus," read the "Mid-sleep Crisis" poetry. It looks like Robertson was so attracted to oceans that many of her dreams involved ships, sea and pirates. "I am a pirate. I am on the sea," Robertson said. When her boyfriend asked what she was doing, she replied, "Telescope. To see the fish." There was even a time when watching "Incredibles 2" influenced her dreams, where she had to chase away the "Mole Man" who had "big teeth."
While the sleep-talks were already funny, turning them into aesthetically designed poems made them even more hilarious. "Wow, what are the odds that a professional writer just happens to stumble into such zany situations?" quipped @hogtruther. "I think your girlfriend is a conduit to another plane of existence beyond the understanding of mere mortals," chimed in @Great_Katzby. Some had similar experiences with their friends, family members or even themselves. "My wife said this in her sleep, 'It’s a Squircle. A double-sided square. A squircle.' I was crying with laughter," wrote @DeanBarnesOx. "Had my brother and his wife staying over once and they remember me mumbling in a very upbeat tone, 'There are lots of trolls here,' before sternly saying, 'Get the hammer,'" added @KestrelWaves.
