Man thought he'd lost his wallet and $100 in tips — then his mom spotted something strange on the door camera

A family from Michigan experienced something similar when a young man appeared on their doorstep, returning their lost cash-filled wallet. When Michelle Johnson looked through her security camera, she saw a stranger standing on her front porch. Initially, she had no idea who the young man was and what he was doing at her residence until Johnson saw the man, Donnie Hanson, talking to the camera while holding a wallet. "And he had held up a wallet to our camera," she shared with the outlet. Later, Johnson realized that the man was at her residence to return her son's wallet. Interestingly, her son, working at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, had made a whopping amount of nearly $100 in cash tips but then lost his cash-filled wallet.

"I was on 17th Street and saw it in the middle of the road, and all I was thinking was, 'Oh, someone had a great St. Patrick's Day.' I can’t believe this was just lying in the middle of the road. I just found the ID, and I was like, you know what, yup, gotta get this back," Hanson shared. Talking more about his gesture, the kind man mentioned that he had lost his wallet too many times and wished someone would have done him the same favor. Meanwhile, Johnson revealed that his son might have lost his wallet while rushing to meet his friends, but luckily, he got it back—all thanks to Hanson, a realtor by profession. "I almost cried! I know that sounds silly, but it was nice! Those small acts of kindness really make a difference in the world," she said while trying to hold back her tears.
