Societal expectations often dictate how women "should" dress to appear "feminine," with some even feeling entitled to comment on a woman’s appearance. When one stranger suggested a woman wear something "more pleasing to the eye," she responded with sharp and bold words. The interaction, captured on TikTok by @ultimatebykomi, shows the woman standing her ground as the man makes his unsolicited remarks.

The text overlay of the video read, "Man tells me to dress more 'feminine.'" As the woman walked by, the man commented, "My advice, love, you wanna wear something a bit more feminine than that." Surprised, the woman replied, "Sorry?" The man continued, "Not doing yourself any favors there, love." The woman, clearly stunned, responded, "Sorry, I didn't ask for your advice." Undeterred, the man added, "Like I said, something more pleasing to the eye might do you some good." She pointed out how inappropriate his comment was, to which the stranger retorted, "There's no need to overreact, I am just saying. A lass being in them clothes, all grey and big baggy pants. You could wear something a bit more pleasing to the eye."

"I didn't ask for your advice," the woman replied as the man refused to back down, claiming it was just a bit of "friendly advice." The woman continued, "I mean, why would you think that's appropriate to say to me? I don't know you. You don't know me." He persisted, saying, "Just thought I'd give you a bit of advice." She pointed out that women don’t feel safe walking alone because of people like him. "I would recommend never speaking to a woman again if that's how you talk to them," she told him. The stranger responded, "No need to take offense. Calm down, love," and added, "Have a nice day." The woman shared, "This is why women feel unsafe walking alone, or they don't want to walk near men even, because of things like this."

"I can't believe there are actually d***heads out there who think they have the right to talk to women like that or talk to anyone like that for that matter," the video concluded. The caption read, "Men always have the AUDACITY to comment." The video garnered over 2 million views and more than 182k likes. People flooded the comments section to support the woman and share their own experiences.

@max_sumner wrote, "As a man, I feel sickened that some men go around and talk to women like this. I would have chined the guy. Bro is wearing skinny jeans too." Another user commented, "The way I'd say to him, 'Yes, I should dress more feminine, just like you. Where did you get those jeans sweetie?'" @pennydreadful11 remarked, "'Don't overreact' 'calm down,' dam,n he gives himself plenty of room for gaslighting after he's rude and inappropriate." @ladielazarus shared, "Randomly telling a stranger how to dress isn’t 'friendly.' You handled yourself brilliantly." @chantelbmusic expressed, "We don’t need to look 'pleasing to the eye,' we can look however we want!"
