Man switching between his work voice and his real voice is way too real and funny

The stark difference between this employee's work voice and real voice is eerily relatable to every corporate worker.

There is a need to maintain a certain decorum in corporate life. Employees have ethics to follow and even dealing with customers requires certain etiquette. However, there is a real and expressive personality inside each one of us. Switching between these two auras is an impressive talent many corporate workers possess. A man named Jay Will shared a rendition of how fantastically employees ace the shift between being real and being “corporate.” Titling it “work voice vs real voice,” he recorded a coworker who was explaining a life insurance policy to a customer.

“This is a whole life policy and you can keep it as long as you want, without having your rates increased,” he said. The employee continued the call politely, explaining everything down to the T. He even displayed flamboyant use of language while communicating. As a corporate sales rep, he was calm, understanding and patient with the customer. Adding professional banter, impressive remarks and more, the call was satisfying, to say the least. The man kept the customer busy on call and convinced them to purchase the insurance from them and reap as many benefits as possible.

“Now I want to give you a confirmation number for your protection, let me know when you're ready,” the employee said. He was the ideal sales rep one could ask for. The striking features of his communication skills were his friendly tone and uplifting voice. It seemed like he was a bright and beaming employee, waiting to get to work every day! The typical chirpy, hopeful, charming aura was reflected in the way he spoke till Will motioned for him to place the call on hold for a second. As soon as he got his attention, the employee moved the microphone away from his mouth and motioned to ask what was wrong. “Talk in your real voice,” Will requested. “What happened?” the employee asked in the most gruff, unbothered and deep tone.

Though he was being casual, there was a complete shift from his chirpy personality to a stern and bold one in a matter of seconds. Will burst out laughing at the contrasting difference. From an enthusiastic young man to an exhausted, done-for-the-day, stressed-out worker, the difference was hilariously accurate and relatable for every other employee. “Oh really? You record me?” The employee asked in his rough and tough voice causing Will to laugh harder. People were not only able to relate but also commended the employee for his perfect skills to switch. @acommonjay exclaimed, “This isn’t a working voice, it’s a full-blown voice acting.”

@chaos_ritual tried to share a comparison between employees’ work vs regular voice. They said, “My work voice went to Yale. My normal voice came out of a swamp.” @hinglemccringleberry6 wrote, “That work voice will earn you more than 30k a year, you better perfect it.” @king_kells exclaimed, “I code-switch every day. But damn, this opened up a new world for me, vocal cord switch, larynx switch.” @soprano0524 hilariously said, “I understood everything until his voice got normal, he’s doing a good job so people can’t hear that register.”
