Man shares hilarious reality of being married to a 'Mean Girls' icon

Jonathan Bennett might not be a household name but we’re willing to bet that if you saw him, you’d instantly recognize him. The reason is that Bennett is best known for his role in 2004’s "Mean Girls," in which he played Aaron Samuels — the secret crush of Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) and the on-again, off-again boyfriend to Regina George (Rachel McAdams). In real life, the actor, TV host and producer is in love with just one person, his husband and fellow actor, Jaymes Vaughan. But, as Vaughan shared in a post, that hasn’t stopped Bennett’s many admirers from diving in whenever the two are in public, as per In The Know.

“This is what it’s like to go on vacation when your husband was in Mean Girls,” Vaughan jokingly sings to the camera while walking in Paris. Vaughan is seen enjoying a solo walk, sipping coffee as he strolls, while Bennett chats with fans and takes selfies in the background. “Everywhere you go people stop and take a pic and you’re just hanging out by yourself,” Vaughan continues. “But look how pretty it is!” 

In his caption, Vaughan clarified that he “obviously” doesn’t take any of this to heart and considers his husband’s huge fan following to be both funny and a blessing. In the comments, many others saw the humor in it but also told Vaughan that it comes with his husband's job. “Well, you are married to Aaron Samuels,” one person pointed out, while another added, “what ya expect.” Someone else wrote in the comments, “you signed up for this lol.” 

Others referred to Vaughan as “Mrs. Aaron Samuels” and reminded him he has married an icon. And then, some others dropped hilarious references to the Tina Fey comedy. “Have you told him his hair looks better pushed back?” one person quipped. “Oh my god, Danny Devito! I love your work!” added someone else. But then came the mother of all questions, “do you guys do something special on October 3rd?” one person asked. Who wouldn't like to know the answer to this one?

The couple was also in the news when they said their vows in 2022. "When you're part of the LGBTQ+ fam, not everything in the wedding space is for you yet," Vaughan told PEOPLE at the time. "The whole purpose of our wedding is to come together and join the two of us together, join our families together and start a new family." Bennett added, "And all that, as we were going through this process, we realized that our wedding is also more than just about us. It's about the entire community."

"It's gender-neutral but everyone looks represented and feels sexy in their own way," Bennett shared. "So it's like a new tradition for the community. You don't have to do dresses and tuxes. Anyone who wants to wear a tux, wear a tux, go for it." Bennett continued speaking about his dream wedding, "It was honestly a dream wedding! We kept having to stop and remind ourselves that we weren't on a movie set, but this was actually our real life. If you had told me this was one of my Hallmark movie sets, I would have believed it. It was that perfect."
