Man sets up a photoshoot for his former model grandma and grandpa's reaction is the best thing ever

Who doesn't love surprising their parents and grandparents with something that holds a special place in their hearts? Ollie Muhl, a 20-year-old on TikTok who goes by @olliemuhl, decided to surprise his 77-year-old grandma with a special photoshoot. But Kareen, his grandma, is not a stranger to fashion and posing in front of the camera. She was an international fashion model in her heyday and her pictures appeared in famous fashion magazines like Vogue, Marie Claire, Jour de France and Elle to name a few. Muhl made a video to document how he planned and executed his surprise for Kareen.

"I am going to surprise her with a professional photo shoot," he reveals at the beginning of the video, mentioning how it is going to be an emotional video for both of them since his grandma has not modeled for several decades. Muhl takes Kareen to an apartment in Paris where he had assembled makeup artists, hairstylists and wardrobe stylists to prepare Kareen for her photoshoot. However, Kareen initially thought her grandson might be joking when he broke the news to her. In a wholesome moment when Kareen gets fitted into her dress of the day, Muhl asks his grandpa what he thinks about it. His grandpa drops his jaws and claims jokingly that he "needs air" after looking at his wife in a glamorous avatar once again.

Soon, the Muhl family is out near the Eiffel Tower to grab some stunning photographs as onlookers pause to admire Kareen's timeless beauty. As Muhl also joins his grandma to pose at several outdoor locations in Paris, a passerby even compliments her and calls Kareen "stunning." At one point, Muhl tells his grandpa that another old man is checking out his wife and Grandpa reacts to it by dropping some slurs out of the other man's earshot. The day wraps up successfully as the team gets some fantastic shots of Kareen with her husband and Muhl.

Newsweek reached out to Muhl to learn more about the popular video and the modeling history of Kareen. "She seemed purely excited, but later she admitted that she had a few moments of doubt about whether she could still perform like she did in her modeling days. But, she quickly found her stride, turned up her confidence and showed that she's still got it," Muhl said. He also recalled how his grandma's modeling days meant so much to her and whenever he talked about his experience in the modeling industry, Kareen would "light up" and Muhl can tell his grandma is "reliving her modeling days through him."

"I wanted to create a special experience for her—a chance to step back into the spotlight and relive her passion. She has done so much for me my entire life, and it was important to me to give her something she could look back on with pride and joy," Muhl told the outlet. "Watching her step back into her element, especially after going through surgery and a heart attack, was beyond inspiring. She brought so much energy and passion to the shoot and it was amazing to see her shine like that again." He is grateful that they were able to connect on a deeper level and share something meaningful.

Muhl's grandma's photoshoot video is a result of his audience begging him to get Kareen's photoshoot done once again after he revealed her professional modeling portfolio to the TikTok community in a previous video. Even in the recent video that reached over 23 million views, many commentators gushed over Kareen's elegance and beauty. @jabronihead wrote, "I wish more modeling agencies went with older models. She is absolutely stunning." @binfluencing noted, "The way she flipped the switch and went into model mode. The face! She was giving all kinds of looks with such subtle changes in her eyes and lips. A true professional model." @brit2k added, "This is more what I wanna see on TikTok is people realizing our grandparents and parents had lives too let’s help them live them once again."
