'If people are gonna record their good deeds, this is how you do it.'
An act of kindness doesn’t have to be big or loud in order to matter — even a small gesture can leave a lasting impact, especially when it’s given without being asked for. These moments often go unnoticed by most, but they stay with the people who receive them, and sometimes with those who simply witness them. One man named Litty did something similar for a group of kids, which later stayed with them. Litty stopped by a corner store when he heard some kids talking about sharing a single bun. In the video he posted on his Instagram @600_litty, he urged the viewers, "Do me a favor and try your hardest to listen to these kiddos."
The group of four boys was trying to pool their money. One of them said, "I wanted to get Oreos, but those cost like five dollars." Another suggested they could split what they could afford. They whispered among shelves, working out prices and deciding who would get what, and kept wondering, "How much do they cost?" In the end, they settled on honey buns because that was all that they could manage. "We’ll share everything. Ya’ll share one, I’ll share one," one of them said. Another kept circling back to the Oreos but eventually let it go when one said, "We don’t have enough." Litty watched quietly from a distance, then he made a decision of his own.
He picked some snacks and candies, including Oreos, and approached the billing counter. In a caption overlaying the clip, he wrote, "Little do they know that none of these snacks are for me." After paying the bill, he put the change in the bag and handed it to them. As soon as the boy's hand was secured around the plastic carrier, Litty bolted straight out the door without saying a word. One of the boys looked at the bag and mumbled, "He got us something." As Litty walked towards his bike, the text overlay read, "I’m not about to let four kids split two corner store honey buns on my watch. Enjoy those Oreos, little man."
It was a small gesture, but people felt it, and they knew those kids would too. @pookawooka3_mommy wrote, “I love how he just handed them the bag and walked out. They will always remember this." @ethanfecteau said, "Didn’t wait for a thank you or anything. If people are gonna record their good deeds, this is how you do it. Just do good and don’t expect anything in return, keep it up, bro." @extrskz added, "Hey, remember when we were kids and that guy bought us a bunch of snacks?" @goodbabyfarms commented, "That could’ve been the only food they got that day, too. A simple act of kindness can change the trajectory of a person’s life. Thank you for being kind."
@lydie_yvette said, "They probably put all their money together. Settled on the honey buns, and then your quick handoff of goodies. I bet they enjoyed every last bite." @tairdropz added, "Dope of you to do that for them, but I think it’s super dope that they were even talking about splitting stuff with each other. Good kids." @yurfav_girlchelsea quipped, "'He got us something' melted me, this world is finally healing bro."
