Tracing your roots is not as simple as it sounds. However, if you ever wish to do it, you should know it can bring about some astonishing revelations. At least that's what happened with this man. Lucas Battle–who goes by @lukasbattle on TikTok–shared something that really blew his mind. While researching his family tree, he discovered that he bore an incredible resemblance to one of his relatives. He realized that he was a spitting image of his great-great-great aunt. "Nothing has humbled me more than when me and my family were going through our family tree and discovered that I look identical to my great great great aunt Katherine," Battle said in a video.
It was not bad until he learned that his ancestor, Katherine, was a "colonial woman." He also shared Katherine's picture, demonstrating how she looked eerily similar to him. "This is a truth I have to live with every single day. This is real," he said while showing the picture and comparing it with his face. "It is now confirmed that I have a carriage-looking face. My face is giving corset," he joked. "The idea that I resemble a colonial seamstress is something that I don't think I can fully recover from," he continued. "This looks like me with a wig, but not really because she has suspiciously short hair for the period." He concluded his video by saying, "There is gonna be only one of us and you're already in the ground."
Needless to say, the video went viral in a short period, garnering over one million views. Many people took to the comment section to talk about the unusual revelation. "I have genuine tears. There's no way this is real," wrote @tabbygomez143. "LOL, I also found this out going through old family pictures. I always knew I was built like a peasant, but then I found proof in my own family history," shared @samanthaleigh526. "This alone made me decide not to learn about my family," joked @nahactuallyjm. "At my great uncle's funeral, we saw a picture of him as a young man and my brother thought it was a picture of himself. We're just re-using faces," added @paigeinpublic.
@lukasbattle I’ve kept this secret for so long

Something similar happened with a Swedish family when they went on a trip. On their way back, they stayed at a rural Airbnb, where they discovered something that blew their mind. As Jenny and her husband, Jethro, gathered for dinner with their kids, 14-year-old Dita, 11-year-old Morty and 8-year-old Barney, they noticed a painting by Swedish artist Carl Larsson, who passed away in 1919. Soon, the family realized they were looking at a painting that resembled their 8-year-old son, Barney.
Just arrived at our secluded rural B&B to find a painting of our youngest child depicted as a small girl.

There's absolutely no terrifying precedent for this, so it's probably fine. pic.twitter.com/VMg0h62hvD
