A man recounts his airport story when he almost got arrested because of an unopened mysterious gift from his grandma.
Getting gifts for Christmas can be very exciting. What makes it even more fun is when there is an element of suspense associated with the gift. However, @brett.gaffney had a radically funny and scary incident with a mysterious gift that his grandma gave him and asked him not to open at the airport. The hilarious video has gained 607.2K views on the social media site with 1571 comments. The man begins the video by sharing that he got stopped by airport security because of a briefcase that his grandma had given him.
He shares that it was an "early Christmas gift" and insisted that he did not open the gift till he got to California. The man was naturally curious and asked her what was in the briefcase because it was very heavy. His grandma would not reveal it and asked him to wait. He tried to reason with her that he would go through airport security and wanted to know what was in it, but she still refused to divulge any details. The man shares, "I go through security at the airport and the machine goes off and it gets flagged as it's going through the conveyor belt."
Since it got flagged, the man got to know from airport security what was in the briefcase, which shocked him. He doesn't immediately share with his viewers what it is and the video cuts to reveal him opening it up to see an old typewriter. Funnily enough, the man is not too happy with his grandma's gifting choice and questions if he is Tom Hanks, going to the park to write an entire book. He shares how he was almost denied entry to his flight because of the typewriter.
When he was questioned about what was in the briefcase, he had no choice but to admit that he did not know. Security questioned him further and he shared how it was supposed to be a surprise, according to his grandmother. He concludes by wishing everyone a merry Christmas and that people could potentially see him in the park with his new typewriter. People found the entire incident to be quite funny and chimed in with their thoughts in the comments section.
@iamladyavery said, "I feel like the words, 'I don't know, it's a surprise' shouldn't be uttered to TSA, let alone in one sitting." @nappyboots hilariously pointed out, "Oh Nah, I'm checking for sure. Grandma Escobar ain't getting me in trouble." Another individual, @breezemakesmesneeze shared, "As a fellow typewriter-gifted grandson, I knew what it was the second I saw it. Your looks much newer than mine."
There seems to be a unique connection between grandparents and Christmas gifts. Last year, a family got to experience the love of their grandparents "one last time" when they accidentally discovered a box filled with wrapped and labeled presents in their attic. There is a series of videos on TikTok in which a woman named Holly Brooke revealed that her cousin made the astounding discovery in their late grandfather's attic shortly after he passed away. The text overlay on the video reads, "My grandfather recently passed away and my cousin found super old wrapped Christmas presents in the attic for my dad, my sister and me."
They also found an old Christmas card with money in it from their great-grandparents, who passed away in 2002. In the wholesome video, viewers get to see a total of seven beautifully wrapped gifts being pulled out of a cardboard box. Such incidents highlight just how heartwarming gift-giving can be while also leading to hilarious situations.
